Chelsea will be announcing the signing of Sevilla Star Jules Kounde very soon after agreeing a £55 million fee.

Kounde was close to making the switch to the club 12 months ago until a potential deal collapsed after they refused to pay his £68.4 million release clause.

However – the Blues have retained their interest in the player and have continued to monitor his performances over in Spain – and after two of their main players departed the club – they have been trying to sign the player for months

But according to reports on the Sun – he is expected to sign with the club in the coming days and be the second defensive arrival to the club in a week

The report says The defender is finally on his way from Spanish side Sevilla and due to undergo a medical within the next 48 hours and The France centre-half has already spoken to boss Thomas Tuchel and even hopes to join his new club for the last few days of their US tour.

Kounde has settled personal terms and the club have agreed to pay Sevilla’s asking price of £51million plus £4m in add-ons.
