Umtiti to be on loan market, Koulibaly drops future hint, Chelsea tells United to name Henderson price in icchelseanews.com roundup…
Napoli defender and Chelsea target Kalidou Koulibaly has hinted towards what is future might hold in a recent interview with Gazzetta dello Sport.
Napoli defender Koulibaly has long been linked with a move to the Premier League and is set to leave the Serie A club in the next transfer window, as the Italian giants are ready to cash in on the big man.
We know that they must improve in key areas of the pitch and although Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen has forged a decent partnership at the back, there are still many out there that believe that the signing of Koulibaly would sent a real statement.
Now, amid all the speculation, Koulibaly has hinted towards what is future might hold in a recent interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, He said: “In football you never know what happens. I never spoke to Napoli about leaving.
“If we have to find a solution, we will find it, but I have never talked about the transfer market.
“At the moment, I still have a three-year contract and I am not thinking of anything else but Napoli.”
He later refused to rule out retiring in Naples, before adding: “I don’t want to deceive anyone. We know how things are in football. Maybe you say you stay for life and then you are sold.”
Chelsea have reportedly asked Manchester United to name their price for Dean Henderson ahead of the summer window
There has been alot of transfer speculation in the media suggesting that Frank Lampard is keen to sign a new stopper in the summer transfer window as he has not been impressed by the performances of Kepa, who has struggled between the sticks.
And that has led to some speculation in the media suggesting that we are ready to make a move and try to bring in Henderson from United, as there is some talk in the media suggesting that he is stalled on a new deal at Old Trafford.
Reports on the Daily Mirror website have claimed Lampard has finally run out of patience with £71.6million man Kepa Arrizabalaga after a turbulent second season in England, and Lampard hopes to make red-hot Sheff Utd loanee Henderson his new No1.
The on-loan Manchester United ace, 23, has kept 12 clean sheets in 32 Premier League games this season – including during the Blades’ 3-0 win over us, and he is tipped to head back to Old Trafford at some point to challenge David De Gea for that number one spot.
De Gea has suffered a difficult season between the sticks at Old Trafford, and there is talk the Norwegian could hand the young England star the starting spot if the Spaniard fails to get back to his very best.
Barcelona are in the market for a top-class centre-back this summer and want to send Chelsea target Samuel Umtiti out on loan
With Frank Lampard looking to spend some serious money during the summer transfer window, there was some speculation in the media that the boss is seeking to add some world class defenders to his squad, with Umtiti high up on the shopping list.
We have already shipped too many goals this season and are in need of adding an experienced defender to that back-line in order to shore the the defence for next season.
A knee injury, which required surgery, saw the Frenchman lose his starting place to countryman Clement Lenglet last season, and reports suggested Barcelona are willing to allow him to depart the club for the right amount of money.
But that is not there only option according to Sport, who have claimed that they will allow the Frenchman to leave the club on-loan next season.
The 26-year-old is tied to Barca until June 2023 and has a €500m release clause, and refused to leave Barca in the past two transfer windows but could be tempted to move on loan with a view to returning to the club in the future.
Umtiti has plenty of suitors with Napoli, Arsenal among the clubs that are willing to take the France international on loan.
