N’Golo Kante has admitted his delight after signing a new five-year deal to stay at Chelsea.
Regarded as the best holding midfielder in world football and arguably one of the Blues most important players, there had been some speculation in the media over the last few weeks that PSG and United were readying a massive £200m offer to try and prise Kante away from Stamford Bridge.
However, we have now ended speculation that he could be leaving by handing Kante a whopping £290,000-a-week deal to make him one of the highest paid Premier League stars.
And the midfielder has revealed just why he decided to sign another deal at Stamford Bridge.
‘I’m happy to extend my time with Chelsea, it has been two beautiful years and I wish for more to come,’ he told the club’s official website.
‘Since I came, I completely improved as a player, challenged myself and got some awards I never thought about. I like the city, I like the club and I am happy to be here for more time.’
Get in Kante, glad you signed lad!
Kante is the best holding midfielder in world football and closing him would be a massive blow to our chances of ever regaining the premier League title from Manchester City, so the news that he has no intention of leaving the club is great news.
Now all we need is for Eden Hazard to follow him and commit his long-term future to the club, especially since Maurizio Sarri is looking to bring in a few world class players in the coming transfer windows.
