Chelsea’s move for Kai Havertz is “never in doubt” – according to Fabrizio Romano.

After another stunning season over in the Bundesliga with Bayer Leverkusen in which he netted an impressive 18 goals, we have been in talks over a deal for the young man for months.

The hold up on the possible deal is the fee that Bayer want, with reports we are were not willing to meet that massive amount of money and were reportedly only prepared to pay £72 million for the midfielder.

But that is no longer the case and it has been revealed over the last few days that an agreement has been reached between the two clubs and he will become a Blues player in the coming days.

But Romano is keen to allay fears any Blues fans have about the player, who has linked up with his international team-mates ahead of Germany’s Nations League games against Spain and Switzerland next week.

He tweeted: “Kai Havertz is a Chelsea player [in] one week!

“Just a matter of time to prepare the announcement, have medicals and complete the contracts for a €100m deal. Never been in doubt.”

Look, now it is just a waiting game for this announcement to be made official by the club, but considering he is on international duty right now, it would be a surprise to see that an announcement is made this week.

But when he does make that move to the club, he will be more than welcome guys, more than welcome.
