Juventus director Fabio Paratici has delivered an update on Chelsea’s long-term target Paulo Dybala’s contract situation.
It is no secret that Dybala has been on the shopping list of the club in previous transfer windows, but they have never been able to get a deal done as he had no desire to leave the Italian giants.
However, Dybala has been linked with a summer move away from Allianz Stadium, with it reported that Juve could look to cash in on the forward before he becomes a free agent in 2022, and that has put the club on full alert.
The Bianconeri have not yet offered the Argentine fresh terms in Turin, but Paratici claims that negotiations between the two parties over an extension are now in motion, as they seek to finally end all the speculation regarding one of the clubs biggest players.
Speaking after Juve’s 3-0 Serie A win against Crotone on Monday, Paratici told reporters in Italy: “Paulo still has a few problems – it’s like he’s on a swing. Some days he’s better and others he’s worse. He seemed okay [last week], then he felt some pain again.
“We have spoken [about this contract], we have been speaking and will continue to speak in the next few days and months.”
Dybala is a fantastic player that is one of the best in world football, and it is very easy to see just why we have been linked with a move for the man for many seasons now.
But do we really need him in the squad now?
