Premier League star ‘could join Chelsea’ this summer – fans have been told
Glen Johnson has opened up and admitted that West Ham star Declan Rice could sign with Chelsea this summer window
Rice is a man that is seemingly in the headlines alot over the past few seasons after developing into one of the best holding midfielders in the game, and that has led to links with the club
Chelsea may have one of the best squads in world football – but Thomas Tuchel knows that he needs to freshen up the squad and it has been claimed that the new owner will back his boss and make a move to sign Rice
Now – amid all the speculation – Glen Johnson spoke to Bettingodds about the potential of Declan Rice heading across London to join Thomas Tuchel’s team.
Johnson said: “On a personal level for him, we know how close he is to Mason Mount, so if Mason Mount commits to a new long-term deal then we know how much of a pull Chelsea will be to Declan.
“It’s another fantastic club and despite the fact they won’t win the league next season, that move may be a lot more appealing to him than Manchester United, if Manchester City or Liverpool don’t get the deal done.”

It is good to see that all the speculation is not effecting the performances on the pitch for Rice this season as he continues to be the best player for the Hammers, but come the summer, that will be a different story
He wants to be playing Champions League football, he wants to be challenging for trophies and the longer he waits, the less time he will have to develop into the world class midfielder that most clubs believe he will become
It will be interesting to see how this plays out, but we would not be shocked to see him depart the club in the summer
