Reece James has reportedly made a decision on his long-term future at CHELSEA fc.

Earlier this month, the west London club announced a pre-tax loss of £90.1million in the year to 30 June 2023 which has got many fans worried that they could end up breaching the financial fair play regulations of the Premier League

They now need to raise funds before the end of June this year to avoid the threat of a points penalty – and the easiest way to comply with PSR is to sell homegrown, academy players, with those deals counting as 100 per cent pure profit.

According to The Times, the clubs hierarchy are preparing to cash in on James and feel they can generate in excess of £60m for the right-back to allay their financial issues.

James is regarded as one of the best full-backs in the Premier League and has recently caught the attentions of the likes of PSG and Real Madrid – who reportedly made enquiries for a potential deal last summer.

However – The captain is reportedly unwilling to leave the Premier League club during the impending summer transfer window, according to an HITC report.

Many fans would probably be fuming if he did get sold in the summer window – but it would make sense as he could be replaced by a younger player that suits the long-term plans of that board.
