Italian Confirms Dutchman ‘Will Be Very Happy’ To Wrap Up Chelsea Transfer Deal

Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Ian Maatsen will be very happy to leave CHELSEA at the end of the season.

Maatsen has thrived since his move to the Bundesliga and capped another impressive performance by scoring a goal in Dortmund’s 4-2 win over Atletico Madrid last week which has secured their place in the Champions League Semi – final against Paris Saint-Germain.

His performances for the German side has meant that they are very keen on making his move a permanent one – but there are also a section of fans that want the club too bring him back to Stamford Bridge.

Dortmund do not have an option to buy Maatsen has part of their loan agreement with the club, meaning that the two clubs will need to negotiate a fee for the Dutchman this summer.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Bundesliga club want to keep Maatsen beyond this season as the full-back has been impressive in Germany, and he would be very happy to leave Stamford Bridge as he is very happy in the Bundesliga.

There are alot of fans that want to see Maatsen given a chance in the side from next season – he has been brilliant in that Dortmund side this season.

There is a need for proven Champions League players to b at Stamford Bridge and rather than going out to splash the cash on a big name – we are hoping that Maatsen gets more of a chance.

He has proven he is a quality player – why would the board be mad enough to let him leave?
