‘It is certain’ Chelsea target will leave giants – Blues favourites to get deal done

Chelsea are leading the race to land Inter Milan star Denzel Dumfries, who has impressed for Netherlands at the World Cup.
The club will need to spend some money in the coming transfer windows in order to add players to the squad that will get them closer to Manchester City and even Arsenal for that Premier League title.
That injury to Reece James earlier in the season which kept him from going to the World Cup – means that Graham Potter will need to add another wing-back to the squad and Dumfries is a player that is on the agenda.
The Dutchman has been one of the most impressive players at the World Cup and is a man that could be on the market – According to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, as relayed by SportWitness,
The report adds that ‘it is certain’ Dumfries ‘will leave’ San Siro either in January or next summer as the Serie A outfit looks to raise funds in order to balance their books, and the Blues are apparently ‘big favourites’ to capture Inter’s star full-back.
Ideally, the Nerazzurri would like to sell him in January and also have him back on loan for the remainder of the season.

Dumfries is a very good player – but he did show at the World Cup that he struggles when he steps up to play teams that are of better quality.
If the club want the man – they will sign him – they have the funds to tempt Inter into getting a deal done.
