Premier League star ‘is the ideal signing’ for Chelsea – board told
Former Newcastle midfielder Chris Waddle says Isak is an ‘ideal’ player for Chelsea.
It was no secret that the club were keen on the man way before he made the move to Newcastle – and with new boss Enzo keen to add a new striker to that attack – Isak suits the style of the club.
Reports have claimed that Talks have already taken place between the two clubs and the Blues are ready to pay in excess of the £115 million they spent on Moises Caicedo last summer, which will break the Premier League transfer record again.
Speaking to BoyleSports, Waddle said: “For Newcastle to lose Isak would be a massive loss, he’s got better and better.
“I watched him in a friendly against Denmark before the tournament started and he kept getting round the defenders so easily, and with so much speed, so I can see why CHELSEA are trying to get him out of Newcastle.
“He’s an ideal player for Chelsea – he’s pacy and exciting – but if Newcastle lose him and replace him with Dominic Calvert-Lewin, they will be in trouble. He suffers so many injuries, so then you’re asking Callum Wilson to stay fit.
“Isak has had his injury problems as well, but losing him to a Premier League rival would be a massive backwards step.”
