Peter Crouch has claimed that Declan Rice is playing like a man that doesnt want to leave, amid Chelsea speculation.
The transfer window is almost at a close, but there is still some speculation in the media that we will make a last minute offer to try and secure a deal for Rice, who they believe will add a bit more defensive quality to the side.
But that £80 million price tag has been a big problem for the club this summer, as they simply do not want to pay such an amount for the player, and with the speculation still circling, Crouch has opened up and suggested that Rice is playing like a man that is not keen on a transfer move this summer window.
He said on BT Sport “I watched Declan Rice closely, because of the price tag with the rumors of him potentially going to Chelsea.”
“But he didn’t look like a man who wanted to move on.”
“Definitely very sound, making tackles, the work-rate he got through, the intensity of his closing down was magnificent.”
“And when he did sweep up, invariably his distribution was very good.”
We have said it before and we will say it once again, if we wanted to sign Rice this transfer window, a deal would have surely be done by now, so even though Lampard may want him, his transfer business may be over for the summer.
Rice is quality but the players we have are enough, too many signings would ruin our season guys.
