Sporting CP’s star forward Viktor Gyokeres has ruled out a possible move to the Premier League in the January transfer window despite strong links, with the likes of Arsenal, CHELSEA and Manchester United.

This season, he has already scored 16 goals in the League, recently bagging a hat-trick against Manchester City in the Champions League and continuing to make a real name for himself at the Portuguese giants.

We are just one of a number of clubs that are reportedly ready to splash the cash and bring the in-demand striker to the Premier League, and it is looking much more likely that a transfer happens after the departure of Amorim.

Amorim’s agent Hasan Cetinkaya revealed in the summer that Gyokeres was only at Sporting because of Amorim, and there has been some suggestions that the striker may be open to the idea of leaving Sporting when the transfer window opens up in January.

But Speaking to reporters, the forward said, “I want to finish this season at Sporting. I love it here. New club? We will see when the time comes. I want to play, that’s crucial… and there will be also other factors.”

Sporting president Varandas recently claimed that if the right price is paid in January, then Gyokeres can leave, As quoted by Fabrizio Romano, Vandaras said: “I can’t promise anything. If a club arrives and pays the release clause, if he (Gyokeres) wants to go, he will go. But I do not think this will happen in January.”
