Star will have to leave Chelsea before £40M man can make Stamford Bridge move
Alan Hutton has claimed CHELSEA need to sell either Kepa Arrizabalaga or Edouard Mendy if they want to sign David Raya from Brighton.
The January transfer window has been closed for a number of weeks now, but that has not stopped alot of speculation about the rumours on who the club could sign at the end of the season.
It is no secret that they are massive fans of the Brighton stopper after his impressive season this year, and were even keen to try and get a deal done in the January window, but Brighton did not want to sell.
However, as we said, they are still keen on the Spaniard and will make a move at the end of the seasob, but if you believe the words of Hutton, the club will need to offload Kepa or Mendy before they can bring the £40 million star to the club.
When asked if the Blues need a new goalkeeper given the strength of their current options, Hutton told Football Insider:
“Only if they get rid of one.
“They have spent a lot of money on goalkeepers when you look at Kepa and Mendy. They have had their problems over the years that they have been there.

“It is a toss up at the moment in time if you were to ask CHELSEA fans who their number one is at this moment.
“To bring somebody in for a big transfer fee on big wages you need to get one of those two off the books. I think Potter might be ok at the moment in time moving forward with the goalkeepers that he has.“
