Hudson-Odoi talks, Sancho claim, WTF Liverpool, Ake move and star told to leave in Chelsea daily roundup
Here is the daily roundup of Chelsea news and gossip from icchelseanews.
Chelsea star Callum Hudson-Odoi has spoken to England team-mate Jadon Sancho about a move to Germany, the Borussia Dortmund star has admitted.
Since leaving Manchester City just a few seasons ago, Sancho has become one of the most sought after young players in the game after developing into a real creative force for the Germans, with the Englishman being involved in 22-goals this season.
But it is another English talent that has been making all the transfer headlines, as Hudson-Odoi may only have four Premier League appearances to his name this season, but he has attracted big interest from giants Bayern Munich which has seen the German side make three transfer bids to try and seal a deal, with the last a reported £35 million.
[the_ad id=”164″]And amid talk that he will reject the offer that has been left on the table, Sancho has admitted that the winger has asked about life in the Bundesliga, ahead of a possible summer move away from Stamford Bridge.
‘Me and Callum are close friends,’ said Sancho on the Sky Sports website.
‘I have told him the Bundesliga is a nice league. I just told him to do whatever is best for him and whatever makes him feel comfortable.’
Liverpool are still eyeing up a possible summer deal for Hudson-odoi.
Hudson-Odoi has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons this season and has constantly been linked with a mega money move away to German Champions Bayern Munich, who reportedly made three offers in the January window to try and tempt the winger away from the club.
But with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp still eager to strengthen his wings area, there has been some reports on the SportBild website which have claimed Liverpool are ready to swoop in and try to take him to Anfield in a deal that could break the £50 million mark.
Former England manager Glenn Hoddle recently advised the forward to leave Stamford Bridge if he continues to be sidelined.
‘If you’re good enough you’re in. The lad has got talent,’ he said on the BT Sport website.
‘If he’s not going to get consistent football at Chelsea then he’s got to go somewhere else. Now is the time he needs consistency. We’ve got to see whether he can be consistent.
‘We’ve got to see when he has a bad spell, can he come back. These are the learning curves as a youngster you need to go through.’
We are considering bringing Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake back to the club at the end of the season.
Despite having one of the best attacks in Europe, Maurizio Sarri has seen his side struggle at the back with many believing that David Luiz and Antonio Rudiger have simply not been good enough, especially when it comes to the big matches.
And that has led to speculation that Sarri could delve into his transfer kitty in the summer and spend big money to try and acquire the services of Napoli star Kalidou Koulibaly or Real Madrid superstar Raphael Varane.
But Dutch publication De Telegraaf are reporting that we are tempted to exercise a clause they have in the deal which took Ake to Bournemouth in 2017 and take him back to Stamford Bridge in a deal worth around £39 million.
Wales boss Ryan Giggs believes Ethan Ampadu would benefit from leaving Chelsea on loan to continue his development.
The talented 18-year-old has been on the fringes of the first team this season, but has not been able to break into Maurizio Sarri’s regular squad and has only managed to feature just five times this season, with most of his outings in the FA Cup and Europa League.
[the_ad id=”164″]And Giggs has told the youngster that he would benefit from leaving the club in the summer, if only for a short time.
“I can see Sarri wants him around the first team,” said Giggs on the Sky Sports website
“But it’s just been a bit stop-start, together with the injuries, which is frustrating because he is an amazing talent and he’s shown that in the games he’s played.
“We’ve had players in the same situation – David Brooks, Harry Wilson, Ben Woodburn – talented players who’ve gone out on loan and benefited from it. But if he can force himself into that Chelsea squad then that would be great.”
