Amelia announces Higuain to bang in goals as Chelsea ready to hand Frenchman move to London
Marco Amelia has claimed Gonzalo Higuaín will bang in the goals for Chelsea under Maurizio Sarri.
Despite reports linking the likes Robert Lewandowski and Mauro Icardi with the club during the January transfer window, Sarri convinced the board to finally wrap up a deal for out-of-sorts Argentine hitman Higuaín.
[the_ad id=”164″Higuain did not have the best of starts to the season for AC Milan during his brief stay with the club and only managed eight goals in his 22-appearances for the club, but Sarri is hoping he can rediscover the form which saw the striker net 36 goals during their time at Napoli.
And despite a relatively slow start to life with the club, Amelia has claimed that Higuain will find his feet at Stamford Bridge and start banging in the goals.
“I played with some of the best players of my generation: Ibrahimovic, Ronaldinho, Hazard, Pirlo, Buffon, Cannavaro, Nesta, Terry and many others,” Amelia tells Sky Sports News.
“I like clever players. The ideal player must be able to make the best decisions as quickly as possible. My philosophy is not to train a scheme or module, but to teach an attitude and the ability to develop game concepts.”
Meanwhile, Chelsea are looking to sack Maurizio Sarri and replace him with Manchester United target Zinedine Zidane.
Sarri started life at Stamford Bridge in fine fashion and won his opening twelve matches as boss, but over the past few months there have been some poor results, talk of player unrest and Sarri hitting out at Roman Abramovic a few times.
[the_ad id=”164″]And that has led to a lot of speculation that Sarri could be sacked before the end of the season, especially after Abramovic saw his expensive side get thrashed 6-0 last weekend to Premier League Champions Manchester City, their worst defeat in the Premier League era.
And according to reports on the TalkSport website, there is growing support in the hierarchy for ex-Real Madrid head coach Zidane to come to Stamford Bridge to help turn the Blues back into a European superpower.
His appointment would be a big boost for the club’s quest to keep hold of star man Eden Hazard, as the Belgian flyer has idolised Zidane since he was a boy and he has even admitted that he would love to work under the Frenchman.
