Coutinho, Hazard, Pulisic, Willian all feature in Chelsea daily roundup
Here is the daily roundup of Chelsea news and gossip from icchelseanews
Barcelona have set an asking price for unhappy Chelsea target Philippe Coutinho.
Coutinho is looking very unhappy at the Camp Nou this season after losing his place in the starting line-up and there has been widespread speculation that he could leave the Spaniards at the end of the season, just after two years after he left Liverpool.
[the_ad id=”164″]Coutinho has not fulfilled his potential at Barcelona and that has led to speculation that we could make a move in the coming transfer window, before the club were hit with a massive transfer ban for some iffy deals a few seasons ago.
But he will not come cheap as the Calciomercato website has claimed that Barcelona are willing to do a transfer deal for Coutinho in the summer, but will not take anything less than £85 million for the Brazilian magician.
The Spaniards paid over £150 million to secure Coutinho’s signature from Liverpool but know his performances are not at the same level and are reportedly ready to take a hit this summer.
Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld has alerted Chelsea to a possible summer deal, after announcing he could leave in the summer.
Alderweireld is regarded as one of the best central defenders in the Premier League and has been a mainstay in Mauricio Pochettino’s side, helping Spurs continue to play in the Champions League and challenge for the Premier League title.
But over the past twelve months there has been constant speculation in the media that he could leave the club, with many reports suggesting that Tottenham do not want to pay him the kind of wages that he is demanding, which are believed to be around the £150,000-a-week mark.
And that has led to speculation we could make a summer move to try and secure a £25 million transfer deal, but the transfer ban has stopped all talk about a possible deal as we simply cannot buy anyone.
But now the Belgium does not know if he will be at the club next season.
He told Sky Sports News: “There’s a lot to play for this season. And in the end I have a year contract left at Spurs, so I don’t look further than this season.
“Other things I don’t know. I am very happy at Spurs, so we will see what the future brings.
“I still feel very fit. I think I played a lot of minutes this season so I showed that I am fit – I don’t feel 30, I feel younger.
“So as I said, I am very happy and I just try to watch game-by-game. This season there is a lot to play for so I will give my best for that.”
Christian Pulisic has hinted that he is ready to replace Eden Hazard on the left wing after signing for the club.
The young American is one of the most talented and creative wingers in world football after developing very nicely at Borussia Dortmund, but after the emergence of Jadon Sancho, the Germans came to the conclusion that they would cash in on Pulisic.
[the_ad id=”164″]And he has dropped a massive hint that he is keen to replace Hazard on the left-wing, with the Belgian heavily tipped to pack his bags and make the big money move to Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.
Pulisic said on the BILD website: ‘I think it’s a really good position for me. Obviously I don’t mind where I play on the field, I just like to be in a good attacking areas where I can create and help the team score goals because that’s where I feel I’m at my best.
‘I like the style that [Berhalter] has and I like that position a lot.
‘[Berhalter’s] very focused on all the details of the game. I’ve been amazed the first few days with just how much information he’s got across, and how he wants every guy to be on the same page and have a perfect understanding of how we want to go into the game.’
The agent of Jorginho has told Chelsea fans that the midfielder wants to be a key figure in helping the Blues end the season on a high.
After months of speculation and weeks of talks, we finally announced the signing of Jorginho from Napoli towards the back-end of the transfer window and he walked straight into Maurizio Sarri’s starting line-up, having worked with the Italian with the Serie A giants.
However, it has not been the best first season for the midfielder and he has been heavily criticised for many of his performances, but his agent believes it is only a matter of time before his client and his under-fire manager turn the corner.
‘The first year in the Premier League is always difficult, we hope the next season can be better,’ Joao Santos told CalcioNapoli24.
‘We need to raise the level of the game and also Jorginho wants to do it, we just have to wait for the right tactical and technical solution.
‘When you’re dealing with a new style of play, you need time to do things the best way possible. We only have to wait for the future, because English football is certainly very beautiful.’
