Havertz backed for Premier League, Thiago Silva on way for Medical, Lamps working on Messi deal, Havertz will dominate in IcChelseanews roundup..
Kai Havertz could occupy the No10 position for Germany for the next decade, according expert Raphael Honigstein, with claims that Chelsea have agreed a £90 million deal.
Havertz and his Leverkusen team-mates have been enjoying a break after being knocked out of the Europa League by Inter Milan on August 10, while both clubs have been in constant talks about a possible deal.
We have been unable to wrap up a deal for the German simply because a fee cannot get agreed, but after months of talks, a deals will be announced in the coming days, according to BILD.
The deal is worth £90m plus add-ons – easily the club’s record buy, beating Kepa Arrizabalaga’s £71.6m move from Athletic Bilbao, and Havertz will sign a five-year deal at Stamford Bridge, according to Bild expert Christian Falk.
Falk tweeted: “Leverkusen will soon accept Chelsea’s offer for @kaihavertz29.
“The transfer is perfect. 5 years contract for Havertz. Total Transfer fee 100 Mio Euro including adds on.”
And amid all the speculation, we have been told Havertz could occupy the No10 position for Germany for the next decade, Honigstein told the Transfer Talk podcast: “He has work to do and has things to prove because he’s only just turned 21, but he’s an outstanding talent, there’s absolutely no doubt about that.
“He’s in a position where he could dominate the German national team over the next decade, depending on his position.
“Will he play in the No 10 role and become the new Mesut Ozil or will he settle a bit deeper and become the new Toni Kroos?
“He’s got the ability to play almost anywhere in front of the defence.”
BT Sport pundit legend Rio Ferdinand has tweeted that Frank Lampard is trying to pull off a deal to bring Lionel Messi to Chelsea.
Messi has won a record six Ballon d’Or awards during his time at Barcelona as the top player in the world, and has helped the club win 10 Spanish league titles and four Champions Leagues.
However, after much consideration, The Argentina international, 33, sent a fax to the club on Tuesday saying he wishes to exercise a clause in his contract, allowing him to leave for free with immediate effect.
The transfer request comes after Barca were beaten 8-2 by Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-finals on 16 August, with the little maestro unhappy with the direction that Barcelona seem to be heading.
And amid the speculation, Ferdinand has got fans going crazy after he took to Twitter and sensationally announced that Frank Lampard is trying to get Messi to make the move to Stamford Bridge.
He Tweeted: Just heard Frank Lampard is now in for #messi. Some window this if Lamps pulls this off !!”

It is no secret in the media that we are very keen to try and secure a transfer deal for Havertz and have been backed to complete a deal for the German star for months now.
However, the past few days it has been revealed in the media that we are on the verge of signing the talented German star for a fee worth around £90 million, and he will also reportedly sign a massive five-year contract with the Blues.
And Marsch believes that the 21-year-old attacking midfielder will benefit from a Premier League transfer: “Havertz is another player that I think needs to get out of his comfort zone and he has major potential.
“What I learned about Germans is that they don’t like being out of their comfort zone; they like defining things, having rules and being uncomfortable is not always the best thing.
“I really think the more talents that challenge themselves in a different culture will be rewarded for it.”
Thiago Silva will undergo a medical at Chelsea on Thursday ahead of signing a two-year deal at Stamford Bridge, reports claim.
We have looked vulnerable in defence throughout the campaign, and have shipped 54 Premier League goals in total, more than any other club in the top 10, meaning that they will need to add a leader that is ready to help add some world class quality to that back line.
And that led to shock reports in the media that we were in advanced talks to try and bring Thiago Silva to the Premier League, and help the Brazilian fulfil his dream of playing in the Premier League.
After a few successful seasons with PSG, Silva is now on the transfer market after failing to agree a new contract with the French giants, meaning that anyone that matched his high wages were free to try and get a deal done.
But according to Sky Sports, he has decided to press on with pursuing a new challenge in West London with the club and is expected to arrive for his medical at the Bridge on Thursday, with an announcement set to follow very quickly after.
There are still issues to be ironed out, however, and there are other clubs interested in the player, but this is a story that is very interesting as Silva would bring some leadership to that back-line
