Bayer Leverkusen chief Fernando Carro has admitted that Kai Havertz wants to “take the next step” amid strong Chelsea links.

Frank Lampard has already been a busy man in the transfer window open the past few months and look set to make another top-class signing, with Havertz the latest player that is seemingly heading to the club this summer.

Reports have claimed that weare locked in transfer talks over a deal for the German, and just need to negotiate a fee with Bayer Leverkusen before the deal can officially be announced.

Now we have taken a massive step towards completing this transfer deal after Carro opened up and announced that the £90 million rated talent is keen to take that next step and further his career.

“It was always clear that there would be talks as soon as the Europa League ended for us,” he told Kolner Stadt-Anzeiger

“Kai has expressed a wish to take the next step. Whether this will work in the near future or not, I can’t say at the moment.”

There is so much speculation regarding the young man that his name is in the news on a daily basis, but all we know is that we are hoping that he makes that big move to the Bridge, as he would be an ideal signing for the club and one that will help us challenge for a title next season.

So now that it has been revealed that he wants to move, hopefully his next stop will be the Bridge.
