£250k-a-week German expected to be at Chelsea – fans told

Havertz regretting Chelsea move

Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg has suggested that Kai Havertz will not be leaving Chelsea in the coming transfer windows.

The January transfer window has been open for a while now and the club have been one of the most active clubs, with the likes of Andrey Santos, Joao Felix, Mudryk and David Fofana just some names that have made the move to London.

There are expected to be some more players make the move to Stamford Bridge in the coming windows – meaning players like Kai Havertz could be sold or looking to move on.

However – despite all that speculation – Plettenberg has opened up and told fans that he does not expect Havertz to leave the club this January window – or at the end of the season.

He told Sky Sports: “The fees Chelsea are spending are incredible and a lot of clubs in Germany can only dream of having this capability but we don’t have these sorts of numbers of here.

“Chelsea’s spending is very much a headline over here because it can have an indirect impact on German clubs.

“When you consider the salaries and the contract durations, the feeling is that Chelsea will be a big player in the summer market over here. Thinking of Kai Havertz, he could be a player who doesn’t have faith in the squad at Chelsea and could make another step.

“I’ve heard that Kai is very happy with the Chelsea boss [Graham Potter] at this stage and he’s very ambitious but I’ve heard there could be a transfer in the summer for around €60m. We’ll have to see where he fits into the new Chelsea. But we’re also hearing that Bayern Munich are not interested in signing him.”
