Gundogan opens up and makes stunning Havertz claim with Chelsea rumours still rumbling
Ilkay Gundogan has got Chelsea fans very excited by admitting that Kai Havertz is better than icon Michael Ballack.
We have been heavily linked with a move to bring Kai Havertz to the Premier League for months now, but a deal has not been announced or confirmed just yet, despite the many reports that it has.
It is believed that an agreement with the player is in place, but the hierarchy are trying to negotiate that £90 million fee down a bit, with suggestions that we are only willing to pay close to £70 million.
Gundogan has witnessed Havertz’s talents in close quarters, and thinks he is already a better all-round player than former Blues midfielder Michael Ballack, The City star told BILD: “In my opinion, Havertz is even better than Ballack in terms of his playing ability. Ballack had a certain level of aggression in his game, and a strong mentality.
“He was a top player of the previous generation – a bastard on the pitch, in a positive sense. Kai isn’t like that.”
Until the deal is officially done, fans will continue to be frustrated about the arrival time of Havertz, and although this is not really a big update, it is something that only suggests that he is heading to the Bridge
Patience is key here, but it would be a massive shock to not see him leave the German side and make that switch to Stamford Bridge.
And hopefully he will be a better player than Ballack.
