Get deal done! Legend urges Chelsea to wrap u £350,000-a-week superstar deal
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink says Chelsea need to hand star man Eden Hazard a new contract after their transfer ban.
FIFA say Chelsea have breached “art. 19 of the Regulations in the case of twenty-nine minor players and to have committed several other infringements relating to registration requirements for players.
[the_ad id=”164″]The club have appealed the decision but, if it is upheld, it will mean that owner Roman Abramovic will not be able to acquire the type of players that will help get the club back to the very top of the game, something he may need to do with rumours Hazard wants out.
But former Blue Hasselbaink has announced that signing Hazard back up to a new contract will be a huge priority, telling Sky Sports: “Even more so, because they can’t replace him, or even get somebody who they can work on to become as good as Hazard.
“I know they have already bought (Christian) Pulisic [from Borussia Dortmund], but they will need to add more if they lose Hazard.
“It is about Hazard believing in Chelsea – and them persuading him to sign a longer contract and believing in the club.”
Here is what we think on Hazard.
Hazard is one of the best players in world football and keeping hold of him would be better than going out and buying two big named players, but it will be very difficult to keep hold of the Belgian as the transfer ban will mean that we cannot buy the type of players that will help him fulfil his dreams.
We would love the club to keep hold of the Belgian, but it would be a massive surprise to many associated with the club if he actually stays, as all indications suggest that he has already made up his mind to leave the club in the summer.
