Blues legend Hasselbaink urges Chelsea to ditch superstars Willian and Pedro for Hudson-Odoi

Jimmy Floyd-Hasselbaink has told Chelsea to ditch Willian or Pedro and give Callum Hudson-Odoi more of a chance in the side.

The 18-year old winger has been in the transfer headlines for all the wrong reasons over the past few months, as speculation increases that he wants to leave the club at the end of the season in order to gain the regular game time that he needs to develop.

Bayern Munich were desperate to acquire his services in the January window, but we blocked his potential £35 million move to the Bundesliga as we hoped that he would sign a new contract and commit his long-term future with the club.

It is believed we have offered the young winger a deal close to the £85,000-a-week mark, as we believe that he will eventually develop into one of the best wingers in world football.

And now Hasselbaink now thinks it is high time that the teenager is given the chance to prove himself at Stamford Bridge.

‘It might be that he lifts the team in a different way and gives them a different dimension,’ said Hasselbaink on the Metro.

‘Chelsea should bring more youngsters through. I would say Hudson-Odoi deserves a chance. You have to say yes, he should be given a chance, because the others in his position are not really playing well at this moment.

‘The only one that is really producing his best – a seven or eight or sometimes a nine – is (Eden) Hazard.’

Here is what we think.

It is quite simple really as Hudson-Odoi brings some excitement and pace to the side, something both Willian and Pedro have failed to do this season and if we lose him in the summer transfer window, it will be a massive mistake from the club.
