Chelsea target has informal agreement to move, Zorc addresses Haaland rumours, Would Chelsea welcome Messi and Mourinho make Chelsea claim
Chelsea get Tagliafico boost, Haaland rumours addresses, will fans welcome Messi? Mourinho wary of Chelsea in icchelseanews roundup…
Jose Mourinho says he will persist with a cautious mindset as Tottenham look to beat off an in-form Chelsea side this weekend.
Tottenham are currently the League winners for the first time in six years and there are many out there that firmly believe this current Spurs squad have the ability to push on and challenge for that Premier League title.
Tottenham are unbeaten in the Premier League since the opening weekend of the season and lead our club by just two points, with the two London outfits the most in-form sides in the Premier League, although the Blues do have a very shakey defence.
Defending champions Liverpool will overtake Spurs with a point at Brighton on Saturday lunchtime but three-time Premier League winner Mourinho says that wouldn’t alter the attitude of his side.
“Going [to Stamford Bridge] top of the league or going there with Liverpool top of the league doesn’t change anything for us,” said Mourinho, who reiterated playing former club Chelsea was just another game.
“As I was saying since the beginning of the season we are only or always contenders to win the next match. Nothing more than that.
“We are going to be there [at Chelsea], with three possible results. We are in football for a long time, we know that anything can happen, but we go there, and our objective is to win the game.”
“With such an amazing squad… To play (Reece) James or (Cesar) Azpilicueta, to play (Ben) Chilwell, (Marcos) Alonso or Emerson…
“To play (Edouard) Mendy or to play the most expensive goalkeeper of the history of the Premier League. Chelsea has an amazing squad. So, I am not even worried about who is going to play because they only have very good players.”
Chelsea transfer target Nicolas Tagliafico is set to sign a new Ajax deal but can still leave next summer, according to reports.
Despite all the rumours and speculation that we were very keen to nail down Tagliafico, the club opted to splash the cash and bring the impressive Ben Chilwell to the club in a deal worth around £50 million.
However, there is a feeling that we still need to add to this squad in the coming windows, and add another left-back to the squad, meaning that Tagliafico will still be on the shopping list when the transfer window opens up at the end of the season.
And according to De Telegraaf, the 28-year-old could still be up for grabs at the end of the season despite the new contract with the Dutch champions in the offing
The Argentina international is said to have agreed a new deal in principle with Ajax. His agent Ricardo Schlieper has confirmed the club reached an agreement with the player on Thursday afternoon.
However, an ‘informal agreement’ is in place which would allow Tagliafico to leave to ‘pursue his dream of playing in a top competition’ once this season has finished, and the right amount of money is offered to Ajax.

Messi hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons in the summer after it was revealed they he had handed in a transfer request to leave the club after the Spaniards failed to pick up any silverware by the end of the season.
However, despite all the talks that he was leaving the club, ultimately he opened up and revealed that he would see out his current deal which ends in 2021 as he did not want to take Barcelona through the courts in order to get a move away from the club.
But there is still talk that he will leave Barcelona at the end of the season, with the Premier League his preferred destination, and we are one of only a few clubs that would be able to pay his massive £600,000-a-week contract.
According to Spanish football expect Guillem Balague, the club could be among the clubs to chase Messi’s signature, Speaking on his YouTube channel, Balague said: “Chelsea are definitely in the equation if Messi becomes available. That is true.
Chelsea will insist they want to hear everything that is going on.
“If they have the money they will want to be involved too. Remember, there is no transfer fee.”
Borussia Dortmund director Michael Zorc has dismissed the ongoing transfer rumours surrounding Chelsea-linked striker Erling Haaland.
The 20-year-old has hit a staggering 33 goals in his first 31 outings for BVB across all competitions, and he is now considered to be one of the most deadly strikers in the game, and certainly in the Bundesliga.
Chelsea along with the likes of Real Madrid, are reportedly ready to pay the big money to try and secure a deal at the end of the season, with reports suggesting that it could cost one of the clubs close to £100 million to nail down his services.
However, Zorc is paying no attention to the speculation surrounding the ex-Salzburg star’s future, as he told a press conference on BILD: “We plan for the long term with Erling. [Rumours] do not have to be dealt with at all.
“I will see him with us for a long time.”
Asked if it is important to carefully manage the weight of expectation on Haaland’s shoulders at this stage of his career, the Dortmund chief responded: “You don’t have to ground him at all.
“He exudes such a positive dynamic. Why should we slow it down now?
“He is leading the way, that is very good for us. I do not believe in artificially slowing positive developments.”
Haaland is certainly a player that will not stay at Dortmund too long and when the right amount of money arrives, they have proven in the past that any player is not bigger than the club.
We do not really need to add another striker to the squad as they already have some of the most exciting in Europe, but adding this man to the side would mean even more goals and would also help the fast wingers they already have at the club.
