Bayern concede Alaba is leaving Chelsea told Haaland is ready to leave Dortmund, Will Chelsea sign Coutinho in icchelseanews roundup…
Bayern Munich chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has accepted that the club are very likely to lose defender David Alaba, with Chelsea reportedly submitting a formal offer.
The Austrian international is out of contract at the end of the season – having rejected a new deal reportedly worth £190,000 a week – and despite being a key player for the European champions, he could be on the move.
That has led to reports in the media that we are one of the clubs that are very interested in trying to secure a transfer deal for Alaba, and will open talks about bringing him to the club when the winter window opens up in just a few weeks time.
Now, amid reports that we have submitted a formal offer to the defender, Rummenigge has accepted that the club are very likely to lose the left-back: ‘Bayern did everything we could to try and reach an agreement,’ Rummenigge was quoted on BILD
‘We had a lot of conversations, but we wanted answers from him by the end of October.
‘This didn’t happen and I don’t know if we’ll return to the negotiations.
‘What I want to be clear about is that our offer showed exactly how much we value him, but he didn’t accept it’
Will Chelsea consider making January move to try and sign Philippe Coutinho in the January transfer window.
Now we all know that Frank Lampard has one of the best attacks in the Premier League, with the likes of Kai Havertz, Christian Pulisic, Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner just a few names that have got many excited this season.
However, they are still lacking creativity in the centre of that midfield, with Mason Mount the only player that adds both goals and assists to the squad, meaning that Lampard may be looking to keep improving that midfield.
Mateo Kovacic is a solid player that does the team well, Jorginho also has a role to play in the side, but does not do anything productive, while Ngolo Kante is the best holding midfielder that the club currently have.
Recent reports in the media have suggested that Barcelona are open to the idea of letting Coutinho leave in the January window, despite being given more of a chance to shine under the guidance of Ronaldo Koeman.
And the fact that we are still lacking that creative midfielder in the centre of the pitch, well, it has been speculated that they would be one of the Premier League clubs that would be interested in trying to sign the Brazilian.
Now, if the reports are true and Barca are open to the idea of letting the midfielder leave, the Lamps adding him to the side would be a no-brainer right? He would be a real statement signing from the club.
Lothar Matthaus believes that Chelsea transfer target Erling Haaland is already ready to leave Borussia Dortmund.
Dortmund won the race to sign Haaland from Salzburg last January and he has made a stellar start to his career at Signal Iduna Park, scoring 27 goals in 29 games in all competitions for the club.
However, there has been alot of speculation in the media that we are one of a number of clubs that believe Haaland would be the dream signing to make, despite the fact that they already have Timo Werner and Tammy Abraham
“Erling Haaland is a win not just for Dortmund but for the entire Bundesliga,” Matthaus explained to the Bundesliga’s official website.
“At the age of 20, he is a machine. He is a flying striker. He brings a positive energy in the team while also scoring goals. He is irreplaceable.
“Erling Haaland is regarded at Dortmund like Robert Lewandowski is at Bayern: the player up front who is not only responsible for the goals but in charge of dragging the team with him. He is a leader at the age of 20.
“That says a lot and on top of that, he knows what he needs to do. He works defensively as well, something I really enjoy seeing Robert Lewandowski do as well. He is not one to just stay forward. His mannerisms as well, for a 20-year-old, to not only think of himself but of his team.
“This positivity that he radiates, radiates on the team which is why I think that someday, Haaland will not be playing at Dortmund anymore and will make the next step. He is already ready and we are proud to have him in the Bundesliga.
“Dortmund need to be pleased to have gotten him because he is a striker that fits to a club with such emotions.”
