Griezmann boost given, Kante wants to stay, Kenedy deal done and Stones makes decision in icchelseanews roundup..

John Stones plans to stay at Manchester City and fight for his place next season despite reports of a Chelsea bid

We let over 50 goals in the Premier League last season and Frank Lampard knows that he needs to sort out this back-line if he is to take the club back into the habit of winning the biggest trophies.

We have completed deals for Ben Chilwell and Thiago Silva, but with the Brazilian a short-term solution to their long-term problem, they have been linked with a £20 million move for the talented Stones.

Stones is one of the best ball-playing defenders in the Premier League but has had troubles with injuries over the past few months and with the arrivals that are expected at City, he knows that he needs to make a move away from the club in order to save his career at the top level.

However, despite the reports that we have made a bid to try and get a transfer deal done, according to The Telegraph, Stones has no intention of leaving City and believes he can win back the trust of boss Pep Guardiola.

Look, if Stones wants to stay at the City and try to fight for his place, then there is no problem with that. But he needs to realise that Guardiola will only play the players that he believes will win him games, and Stones is no longer that.

Chelsea have announced on their website that Kenedy has joined Granada in Spain on a season-long loan.

There has been alot of speculation surrounding the club over the past few months, both with the players coming in and the players that are being linked with moves away from the club, either on loan or on a permanent basis.

But we have decided that Kenedy will spend another season on-loan over in La Liga after announcing on the club website that the 24-year Old Brazilian will be heading to Granada for a year.

“The Granada CF and Chelsea FC have agreed the transfer of the player Robert Kenedy for a season until June 2021,” an official statement from Granada reads.

Granada were a revelation in Spain last year, finishing seventh in their first season after promotion from the Segunda Division, which means they have a Europa League qualifier, away to Teuta of Albania, to look forward to later this month.

There may be many  fans out there that believed Kenedy could have been given a chance in the  side this season after an impressive campaign last year with Getafe, but rather the sitting on the bench, this is a good move.

Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante reportedly wants to remain at Stamford Bridge, despite interest from Inter Milan.

Milan have been linked with a move for the Frenchman in the past, but have never really made an effort to get a transfer deal done, but with reports that he could be sold this summer, this is the perfect opportunity to land the man.

It has been claimed on Telefoot that the Italian giants boss Antonio Conte is keen to be reunited with the France World Cup winning midfielder this summer and is reportedly ready to pay that £60 million asking price to try and get a deal done.

However, those same reports have suggested that Kante has no intention of leaving the club this summer, and wants to stay and fight for his place in the squad.

Look, we have said it on many occasions that we would be massive fools to let one of the clubs very best players leave in order to raise funds to bring in more players.

Having Kante in the squad is alot better than having no Kante in the squad, as we said, he is one of the very best holding midfielders in the game and the club would be foolish to let him leave.

Chelsea are on fresh alert to sign French World Cup winner Antoine Griezmann who is the biggest loser from Lionel Messi’s decision to stay at Barcelona.

last week news broke that Lionel Messi wanted to leave Barcelona and make the move to the Premier League this summer, with Manchester City the preferred destination of the Argentine superstar.

It was claimed that he is fed up with the direction of the club, that he wanted a fresh challenge before he ends up his playing days, and it is said that he is keen to link-up with Pep Guardiola once again.

But that will not happen this summer as La Liga confirmed that clubs would have to pay his massive £600 million release clause in order to get a transfer deal, a decision which led to Messi deciding that he would stay for another season.

And his decision to stay has now got many people talking that Griezmann could be heading out of the club this transfer window, with a number of Premier League clubs keen on a deal.

The report says that Ronald Koeman had promised Griezmann the role that would have been left vacant by Messi, but now that the Argentine will not be leaving, those plans are now under question.

Look, if we did manage to secure some kind of transfer deal for Griezmann it would be a real statement signing from the club, but at the end of the day, do we really need to add the Frenchman to the squad with all the midfielders we already have at the club?

There is never a good reason to turn down an opportunity to sign world class players, but too many attackers in the squad will mean that the talent that we have at the club will not get the game time they fully deserve.
