Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news, gossip and transfer speculation from icchelseanews featuring the likes of Carney Chukwuemeka and Caleb Wiley that you may have missed…

Carney Chukwuemeka has opened up and revealed that he is very grateful to have made the January move to Borussia Dortmund, to end his nightmare season at CHELSEA.

Since joining the club, Chukwuemeka has managed just 32 appearances (two goals and one assist) across all competitions and really failed to make an sort of impact under Enzo Maresca, and that prompted him to make the loan move to Dortmund.

And after sealing that move to the Bundesliga, the midfielder opened up and revealed just how delighted he is with the move: “Everything is rather surreal. I’m just absorbing every moment. This is a huge club, who were in the Champions League final last season. I was grateful to be able to watch it, a few of my friends were on the pitch. But yes, it’s a surreal feeling. I’m so happy to be here and I can barely wait to get started.”

‘I was born in Vienna – but I was only there for two years. So that wasn’t long enough to learn German properly. But my father speaks fluent German. So I will try to learn as much as I can from him.”

“I’m a player who likes to express himself on the pitch, I play without fear. I like to dribble, initiate moves, pass and shoot. I will always give my all for the badge. I’m honestly very grateful that I’m here. Fans can expect all of that from me. I will give my all in every game.”

“The Champions League final last season, of course. The way they got there. And of course there are also a number of English talents who have really flourished here: Jude [Bellingham, ed.], Jaden [Sancho, ed.], Jamie [Gittens, ed.].

‘This big club is able to make talents big. It’s a big club in general, the stadium is huge, the fans are great. I was on the bench a few years ago when BVB played Chelsea in the Champions League. I still remember the volume of the yellow wall, it was a great atmosphere.”

“I would say it’s a chance for me to show what I can do. I can’t thank the club enough for the trust they’ve shown in me. That alone was an important reason for me to come here. But, as I said, it’s also the array of talent that has developed here.

‘That makes it the right move for me right now. I want to showcase my talent in Europe and I want to help us all, the club, to be successful.”

CLEVERLY HAPPY WITH WILEY DEAL.

Watford boss Tom Cleverley expressed his delight at capturing the precocious talents of CHELSEA starlet Caleb Wiley for the remainder of the 2024/25 campaign, after the Blues allowed the defender to leave

Wiley was signed by Chelsea in the summer of 2024, inking himself to a six-year contract with CHELSEA  through 2030 at Stamford Bridge, but the left back spent the first half of the campaign on loan at Ligue 1 club Strasbourg, but only managed six appearances due to injury with the French side and was brought back to the club earlier in the transfer window.

Now He will spend the remainder of the season away from the club after the decision was made that he would be allowed to make the loan move to Watford, and boss Cleverley has admitted that he is very happy with the defender coming into the club.

“Caleb’s a really athletic left-back with great technical quality – as you’d expect from a Chelsea player,” said the Watford boss of the new loan signing.

“He’s coming here having been playing at a high level with Strasbourg in the French top-flight. And he’s exactly the type of player that’s going to give us great competition in that area of the pitch.”

The 20-year-old USA international is currently returning from injury.

“It’ll be a couple of weeks before we see him in training so that’s a known quantity and we’re fine with that,” Cleverley added.

“It’s great to add Caleb to our defensive options and I’m looking forward to getting him integrated with the group.”

CHELSEA WISH MIDFIELDER GOOD LUCK

CHELSEA midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka has completed a loan move to Borussia Dortmund for the remainder of the season.

The midfielder has endured an injury-laden time at Stamford Bridge since signing from Aston Villa and has really struggled to make any sort of impact at Stamford Bridge which means that he will be a big part of the plans for Enzo Maresca.

And with game time needed, the decision was made in January for the midfielder to make the move to the Bundesliga and join Borussia Dortmund until the end of the season, a move that was confirmed very late on deadline day.

The Blues posted on the club website: ‘The 21-year-old has featured five times for the Blues this term, with his most recent outing coming in our UEFA Conference League win over Astana.’Signed from Aston Villa in August 2022, Chukwuemeka has made 32 first-team appearances and scored two goals.

‘He will now continue his development in the Bundesliga with Dortmund and we look forward to supporting Carney during his loan.

‘Good luck, Carney!’

He needed a move away from Stamford Bridge for the sake of his career, that is for sure and that move to Dortmund was a very good decision to make. At the end of the say, the longer he stayed at the club and keeps that bench warm, the more he will see his career pass him by.

So we hope that this move to Dortmund really helps his development enough for when he returns.
