Marco Van Ginkel has opened up and revealed a new contract offer from Chelsea.

Van Ginkel joined  us in 2013 from Vitesse and was hailed as one of the most brightest talents to come out of the Dutch League in recent years, but he has managed just four first-team appearances in seven years with the west London club.

The 27-year-old spent the entire 2019/20 campaign recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament injury but is now nearing full fitness again, and there is a feeling that he is ready to try and prove himself under Frank Lampard.

Lampard has reignited a number of players at Stamford Bridge this season and given a number of players the chance to prove that they are still valuable to the club, and the squad, and Van Ginkel maybe has his eye on that.

Now, he has opened up and revealed to  fans that there has been a contract offer from the Blues. he said: “I am very happy with that sign of confidence from Chelsea.

“It is no small thing that a club tries to keep you in such an uncertain time after such a long injury period. Apparently they still see something in me, although we still have to figure it out.”

“It is really not only about my contract or future plans, but also about exchanging experiences. There is reciprocal human interest and I really appreciate that.

“I follow my previous clubs well. No matter what happens, I will always feel at home at PSV.”
