He added: “No – do you know what, I just wanted to go on loan… “I remember training on a Wednesday at City in the afternoon, and the news was ‘they’re trying to agree a fee.’
“Every time the ball went out I’d ask the kit man or the doctor if they’ve agreed the fee yet. “So I didn’t really get a chance to see many people and say I’m going. I just had to get my stuff.

MADRID TOLD TO SELL VINICIUS
After a brilliant season for Real Madrid last season in which he helped the Spaniards to another League title and another Champions League crown – Vinicius had expected to lift the gong, but Man City’s Rodri edged him out, leading to a furious reaction from the forward and Real.
Not only does the Brazilian winger feel unprotected by the referees, but has also had to deal with countless episodes of racial abuse over the years. That, coupled with the Ballon d’Or snub and interest from Saudi Arabia and the Premier League, could see Vinicius seek greener pastures, with his Real Madrid contract expiring in 2027.
Now Sport claims that Blancos officials are considering cashing in before discussions need to begin over a contract that is due to expire in 2027. It is suggested that Chivo Perez, the son of club president Florentino, is in favour of a sale.
