Werner makes Chelsea admission – Blues in talks to sign Aubameyang – Tuchel admits he is in Chelsea talks in news roundup –

Chelsea and Barcelona have been in talks in the last few days over the signing of striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner both decided to leave the club this transfer window as they were not happy at Stamford Bridge – and that means that Thomas Tuchel needs to add a strikero to his attack

That has led to some stunning reports in the media which have claimed that the club are very much interested in trying to sign Aubameyang from Barcelona

Aubameyang has impressed during his time at Barcelona – but after the arrival of Robert Lewandowski – he is no longer a guaranteed starter and is keen on making that move back to London

And it has now been claimed on the Sun that Chelsea and Barcelona have been holding talks over a possible deal

Those talks – which have gone late into the night – have so far failed to find an agreement.

The deal under discussion thought to be worth between £15m-£25m. The club want to include Marcos Alonso in the package, but Barcelona want straight cash to help enable them to register Jules Kounde.

Barcelona have previously been interested in signing Alonso this summer, but one source has claimed that has cooled given their issues in registering all of their new signings.

Aubameyang continues to train as normal with Barcelona at Real Socidedad on Sunday night.

Shaun Wright-Phillips has claimed that he could be a great signing for us-

He said: “Do you know what, I didn’t think so at the start.

“But after watching them play at the [Spurs] game and the way Tuchel wants his team to play and after having conversations with [Gianfranco] Zola and [Glenn] Hoddle, it became clearer the reasons why Tuchel wants him.

“Aubameyang could definitely suit them, especially if he joins and scores goals.

“His mobility, the way he stays out on the left, never dropping too deep could suit Chelsea and can be someone they need.

“But I’m strong believer if you have a young talent there, why not put them in and give them a run of games.

“But I doubt that will happen until the transfer window shuts and they don’t get anyone in.”

Timo Werner has blamed Thomas Tuchel’s tactics as the reason why things didn’t work out at Chelsea.

The German arrived at Stamford Bridge with a lot of expectations to develop into one of the very best strikers in world football – but despite scoring 23 goals for the club in 39 appearances – he failed to live up to the hype

And after a few days of rumours and speculation – Werner re-joined RB Leipzig, where he scored 95 goals in 159 games in all competitions, on a contract until 2026 and will wear the No 11 shirt.

Werner wanted to return to his old club and get regular game time to secure a starting spot in Hansi Flick’s Germany squad at the World Cup in November

Now – the German striker has opened up and revealed why he made the decision to pack his bags and leave the club- and he claims Tuchel’s strategy didn’t compliment his style of play.

He said: “Of course, I had great success at Chelsea, but the fun got a bit lost in the end because I didn’t play regularly anymore.

“I think the coach’s system of play didn’t suit me perfectly.

“That’s why it was clear to me that I wanted to take a new step. I’m at an age where I want to play as much as I can.”

He should get back into the habit of scoring goals for fun on a regular basis back at RB

He never really suited the style of play for the club – again – this was the best move for the player to make

Thomas Tuchel has confirmed he is in talks with Chelsea over a contract extension.

The German coach’s current deal already runs until 2024, but Chelsea’s new owners are keen to keep him in west London for the long term as they believe that he will take the club back to the very top of the game

Tuchel signed an 18-month contract on replacing Frank Lampard at the helm in January 2021 – and the German boss has already won the Champions League and Club World Cup during his time with the club

New owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali have been impressed by Tuchel’s tenure, and Chelsea’s new chiefs want to keep the 48-year-old at the Stamford Bridge tiller.

And now – Tuchel has confirmed that he is in talks with the club about extending his stay in London – Asked about his contract situation, Tuchel said: “There are talks.

“But I think given the situation where we come from, and where we are in the middle of the transfer period, I think it is the very best if I focus on my team and on sports and on being competitive.”

Tuchel is one of the best coaches in world football and fans really love him – so it is easy to see just why he is about to sign a new deal with the club

However – there is no rush for the deal to get done as there is not any speculation about his future at the club – so it will not be done for a while –

But this is massive news for the future of the club as he knows how to win trophies – he just needs the players to do that
