Possible Chelsea signing delivers verdict on potential move to Stamford Bridge

Cody Gakpo has delivered a huge verdict regarding his future with Chelsea interested in completing a transfer for the 22-year-old.

The club may have splashed some serious money in order to complete the signing of Raheem Sterling from Man City earlier in the transfer window – but it is believed that Thomas Tuchel wants to keep on improving the side

And that has led to many reports in the media that the club are very much interested in a deal for Gakpo, who is fast becoming one of the most sought-after young players in Europe right now

The winger, who mainly operates on the left, has hit 16 goals in all competitions for the Eindhoven club last season, and has also provided 15 assists and his performances is attracting all sorts of interest

Reports have claimed we will be able to get a deal done for Gakpo – should they decide to actually make a move as he is in the price range for the club

But If PSV can make it into Europe’s top competition, then Gakpo fancies his chances of staying in Eindhoven this summer – he has admitted

“We must first focus on [the second leg against Monaco] and try to make it to the Champions League,” Gakpo told ESPN. “Then it is more likely that I will stay.

“I don’t think I have said anywhere that I am leaving, so there is definitely a chance that I will stay.

“I’m open for a cup of coffee with the management – or coffee for them and water for me. We’ll see how it goes.”

If PSV do not get into the Champions League – the club would be fools to not try and get a deal done for the man that is for sure
