Frank Lampard has been told £80 million midfielder wants to stay in London with Chelsea keen on deal
Declan Rice reportedly wants to stay in London with switch to Chelsea his priority.
The January window is just a few weeks away from closing and despite all the speculation linking the club with some big transfer moves, there has not been much action in the window so far.
However, that has been the case, down to the fact there is covid still flying around in the air, and that means that rather than improving the squads this transfer window, it is very likely that they are both planning for the summer window.
And that has of course led to more speculation that we will try and make a transfer move for Rice, who has become one of the very best midfielders in the Premier League over the past 12 months or so.
However, According to the Mirror, the England international has told friends he doesn’t want to live in the north, and should he leave West Ham in the coming windows, he would much prefer to stay in London.
A source close to the versatile 21-year-old said: “Dec has been flattered by interest in him but he doesn’t see himself moving to Manchester.
“It’s obvious where he’d like his next move to be.”
Potential suitors will have to cough up bug money for Rice, who has been valued at a whopping £80million by West Ham.
Rice is a brilliantly gifted player that has some great potential, but at the end of the day, we are not in dire need of adding a new midfielder to the squad right now, and certainly not for £80 million
