Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news and gossip from IcChelseanews that we think you guys may have missed –

CHELSEA’s latest signing Axel Disasi has said he has been previously likened to club legend Marcel Desailly.

Axel Disasi completed his £38million move from AS Monaco to Stamford Bridge on Friday morning after the club made the big decision to splash some cash and bring him to the Premier League

The centre-back has arrived at Stamford Bridge amid the news that Wesley Fofana is set for a long spell on the sidelines due to an ACL injury, and the continued speculation that Trevor Chalobah could be leaving the club.

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –

Speaking to Chelsea’s media team, he was revealed how he was compared to Marcel Desailly when he was younger.

“When I started to play professionally, my first coach said, ‘You are like Desailly’. It’s also a similar name like me, Desailly, Disasi, they’re a little bit the same.

“So the people say, ‘You are like Desailly’, and he was a good player, a great player for the French national team and for Chelsea also.

“[A CHELSEAlegend] Yeah for sure, I hope, I hope.”

WILL DISASI BE A GOOD SIGNING?

The man has all the physical attributes to be one of the best centre-backs in the Premier League and a man that is able to compete against the very best strikers.

He is a bargain for that £38 million that the club have paid for the man – and he should be a player that Mauricio Pochettino can rely on, and a player that could turn out to be a real transfer bargain

BOARD DELIGHTED WITH SANCHEZ –

Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart are delighted after Robert Sanchez has completed a £25million move to CHELSEA by signing a seven-year deal with the club.

After letting Edouard Mendy go earlier in the transfer window and with all the inconsistency that Kepa brings to the side – Mauricio Pochettino was keen to add another stopper to the squad.

And after Brighton decided that they no longer wanted Sanchez at the club – the club made the big decision to make a move for the stopper and bring him to the club on a seven-year deal.

Sanchez will compete with Kepa for a starting berth at Stamford Bridge, with Mauricio Pochettino keen to have two goalkeepers to play in all competitions.

And after seeing the deal get done – Co-sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart have revealed that they are very happy to see the big man make the move to Stamford Bridge.

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –

‘We’re very pleased to welcome Robert to CHELSEA  and he adds further quality to our goalkeeping unit.

‘Robert has repeatedly proved himself in the Premier League and been capped by his country. We are excited to watch him work with Mauricio and his coaching team during the season ahead.’

Discussing Sanchez’s departure from the south coast club, Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi said: ‘Robert is a good guy and a really good player, but being a coach sometimes means making difficult and painful decisions for the team.

‘I wish him good luck for the future.’

‘I’m really excited,’ Sanchez told Chelsea’s official website. ‘It’s an amazing opportunity to work with a coach of that level.

‘We’ve all seen what he’s done at his previous clubs. I think what he brings to clubs is really good and hopefully I suit his playing style.

‘I want to contribute and help the club win trophies. I know it will be a big challenge but I’m ready for it.

‘The opportunities this club will give me are amazing, to develop more as a goalkeeper, to keep learning and to compete for the No. 1 spot and show everyone how good I can be.’

MIA FISHEL HAPPY AFTER MOVE –

American forward Mia Fishel is delighted with her transfer move to CHELSEA.

Fishel was top scorer as Tigres won the Apertura title in the Liga MX Femenil last season, with the Monterrey-based team taking the honours for the opening half of the campaign that is split into two championships.

The 22-year-old has penned a three-year deal with the club until the summer of 2026. And she has now opened up and admitted just how delighted she is with the transfer move.

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –

The club posted: ‘Everyone at CHELSEA warmly welcomes Mia to the club, and wishes her every success for the upcoming years in blue.’

Speaking on signing for Chelsea, Fishel said: ‘I’m super excited, it’s a dream come true and everything that I’ve worked for since I was a kid until now. It’s all worth it and it’s all paid off because now I’m playing for one of the best clubs in the world.

‘I’m excited to know London, to meet the people and get to know everybody. I’m blessed and excited to start this journey with Chelsea.’

Manager Emma Hayes commented: ‘Mia is an exceptional finisher whose box presence and movement make her elite. She can also create something from nothing and her prime years are to come.’

General manager Paul Green added: ‘Mia is a born goalscorer and we think that she’s at a great age to take the next step in her career. We’re really excited and feel that her pace and power is going to be a big asset for the team in the upcoming years.’
