Chelsea should look to sign Romelu Lukaku this summer over Erling Haaland, according to former Premier League striker Peter Crouch.
With the club looking to improve the squad and add a number of players to the side, there has been alot of speculation in the media which have suggested that we are interested in a deal for Haaland and Lukaku.
Haaland is regarded as one of the finest strikers in world football and has been linked with all the major clubs around Europe, while Lukaku had an amazing season with Inter Milan and helped the squad win that Seria A title for the first time in 11 seasons.
But despite the rumours that Haaland is the number one transfer target for the club , Crouch has opened up and claimed that the board are much more likely to sign Lukaku from Milan this coming window.
“A striker who has started the EURO 2020 well is Romelu Lukaku, who would be a great option for Chelsea this summer,” Crouch told Paddy Power.
“He’s relentless, his goal record is phenomenal, and he’d be a good fit in well with their pacey front line.
“He’s a different player than when he left Chelsea and Manchester United. He’s at a higher level now and in the conversation for one of the world’s top strikers.
“Watching Lukaku play this year, he’s been consistently dominant, it’s unbelievable, he has everything you need as a top forward.
“He can lead the line on his own, has pace and strength, and his touch and awareness have improved.”
I would take Lukaku or Haaland any day of the week
