£75M man completes Chelsea medical after agreeing six-year deal

Chelsea target Wesley Fofana has completed a medical today ahead of his move to Stamford Bridge.

It has been no secret that Thomas Tuchel has been keen to splash the cash and continue adding to that back-line – especially as Kalidou Koulibaly and Marc Cucurella are the only two defenders to arrive this summer

And Fofana has been the number one transfer target for Thomas Tuchel – as the German is a massive fan and wanted him in weeks ago – but the club could not agree a fee with Leicester, and it has just dragged on for weeks

But he is now all set to join the Blues from Leicester in a deal worth around £75million.

Fofana agreed a six-year deal with the club after informing the Foxes that he wished to leave – and reports on the Sky Sports website have claimed that he has completed his medical before the transfer is made official

And ahead of his arrival – Alan Hutton has claimed Wesley Fofana is an “outstanding” defender: “I think they knew that Chelsea were going to come back in for him,” he told Football Insider.

“It’s Chelsea’s number one target, they were holding out for as much money as possible. Rumours at one point were £80m, I think it’s a hell of a lot of money.

“Look, he’s an outstanding player, I think he’ll come into that team and make them better there’s no doubt about that. He’s young, he can still get better, there’s room for improvement and I think he will with better players round about him.

“Leicester were definitely holding out because I think they knew Chelseawere going to come back in because it’s their number one target.“

There is no doubt that the defender has some real talent and has a bright future in the game – but damn is he not worth the money that is being talked about
