Luis Figo has told former club Real Madrid they must bring Chelsea playmaker Eden Hazard to the club.
Hazard has started the new Premier League season in tremendous form after netting eight goals in hid opening nine matches of season, but it could have been so different in the summer and he could have departed Stamford Bridge for a move to the Bernabeu.
Reports emerged which suggested Madrid were keen to acquire the services of Hazard after the Spaniards finally let Cristiano Ronaldo leave the club to join Italian Champions Juventus, and all indications suggested he was open to the idea of a switch, after admitting that now could be a good time for a fresh challenge.
But despite all the rumours, boss Maurizio Sarri somehow convinced Hazard to stay at the club and make a serious challenge for the Premier League and Europa League crowns, but speculation surrounding his future still continues in the media.
Now Figo has told his former club to do all they can to sign Hazard, telling Sky Sports: “Real Madrid must sign Hazard without any doubt. He is an excellent player, one of the best there is at the moment and I think he wants to play for Real.
“In addition, he is one of the few players who is not linked with big teams in the long term.”
Will Hazard leave for Madrid?
Figo has no right to come out and urge Madrid to make a move and try to sign Hazard at the end of the season, so we do not know why he is trying to get involved in the speculation, but one thing is for certain, if the Spaniards make an offer then it will be very hard for the Belgian to turn down a move.
He is more than interested in a deal and for the right amount of money, Chelsea will sell, especially since they know he is keen on a switch to La Liga.
