Enzo Maresca confirms £100M man will be a Chelsea player this summer window

CHELSEA boss Enzo Maresca has dismissed reports that Enzo Fernandez could join Real Madrid this summer, despite all the speculation and rumours surrounding the £106 million signing.

Ever since the Blues broke some records to sign Fernandez just a few seasons ago, there has been constant speculation and rumours about whether or not the Blues would cash in as the Argentine has not lived upto all the hype surrounding his name.

The midfielder has been linked with a move to the Bernabeu by reports in Spain and Argentina, and it was reported that Chelsea may actually be interested in getting a deal done over the next few months, but that does not seem to be the case.

The Chelsea head coach has opened up and dismissed the reports that Fernandez could leave Stamford Bridge he said: “He’s a main player for us. He’s one of the captains, the leaders and he’s been very good.

“He can be even better next season, starting from the first day.

“Nothing to say about speculation. He’s focused on us and this is the most important thing.”

When asked if Fernandez is staying, Maresca said: “Yes.”

Fernandez may not be the most exciting player to watch, he may not score many goals or create alot of chances, but he suits the style of Maresca and it is easy to see just why the Italian does not want to sell the midfielder.

We are very glad that he will not be leaving the club now that the transfer window is open, although he may be tempted if an offer does arrive
