Fans told Chelsea ‘talks are on-going’ to complete £40 million deal for Alex Telles

Reports in the media have claimed that ‘talks are ongoing’ between Chelsea and Porto about a possible deal for left-back Alex Telles.

Frank Lampard knows that he needs to improve the side if he wants to get back inside the top four and then push on to challenge for a Premier League title and Champions League crown, and one area of concern for the Blues is the defence, as it is not good enough to challenge the big boys in Europe, so Lampard is reportedly keen to sort that issues out with the possible signing of Telles, who has been very impressive for Porto over the last few seasons.

Recent reports in Portugal claim Porto are ready to sell their star defender this summer in order to avoid losing him for free at the end of the 2020/21 campaign, and the report goes on to suggest that we are now ready to make their move.

According to Italian football journalist Nicolo Schira, Telles has been identified by the hierarchy as the man to arrive and a deal is already in the works, He wrote on Twitter: “#Chelsea are really interested in Alex #Telles (Porto) for the next season. Talks ongoing.

“He could replace Marcos #Alonso, who is the first choice of Antonio #Conte for #Inter as a left-back.”

Look, we all know that we do need to improve that back-line and sign the players that will make a real difference to the squad, but look, Wold class players is needed Lampard! Telles is a very decent player that is a great attacking threat, but his defending has been questioned on numerous occasions.

Telles is a man that has a lot to prove and even though he has impressed the scouts, playing in the Premier League is very different to playing in the Portuguese League, if you get my drift.
