Father makes Fiabema claim, Havertz message sent and Tomori almost certain to leave Chelsea in icchelseanews roundup…
Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori is set to leave the club on loan in January, Blues fans have been told.
Tomori made an impact on this side last season when Frank Lampard have him chance to shine in the first-team, and many believed that he would be the perfect partner to play alongside Thiago Silva at the back this season.
However, he has dropped down the pecking order at the club this season and is struggling to get any minutes on the pitch, With Lampard preferring Kurt Zouma alongside the Brazilian, which has led to alot of speculation heading into the January window.
But now, with the window just a few days away, Crooks has opened up and told fans that Tomori is all set to leave the club on a loan deal, TalkSPORT’s Alex Crook said: “It’s almost certain that he will leave Stamford Bridge on loan next season, he’s only featured in one Premier League or Champions League game this season.
“There was interest from West Ham in the summer, but he walked away from a move to the London Stadium at the eleventh hour on Deadline Day.
“Leeds have also expressed an interest, but I’m told Rennes is now the most likely destination for Tomori.
“They tried to sign him as part of Edouard Mendy’s move to Chelsea and talks have remained ongoing.”
Chelsea beat Manchester United to Nigerian talent Bryan Fiabema because they were ‘faster’, it has been revealed.
Lampard has overseen a dramatic change in youth policy since he took charge last summer, with a host of the clubs academy stars graduating to become regulars in the senior squad
The likes of Mason Mount, Tammy Abraham, Reece James and Fikayo Tomori are just a few of the young guns in Lampard’s side this season, and with so many talented players in the youth set-up, many talents around Europe have been keeping a very close eye believing that they could get a chance to shine under Lampard.
The 17-year-old Fiabema was appearing for Tromso in Norway when clubs picked up on his talents, with constant reports in the media suggesting that United were the biggest challenge for us in the chase to sign the talented star.
Now dad Mina has revealed how the Blues were able to secure his services in a transfer at the start of 2020, claiming that they managed to secure a deal by being that bit faster, He told All Nigeria Soccer: “Chelsea for him was a dream come true, Manchester United were also looking at him.
“Chelsea were faster than Manchester United.
“Youth players are hardly signed during the winter transfer window, so we were not expecting him to join Chelsea but the invitation came in December and he was signed in January.”
Kai Havertz will come good at Chelsea… if the play him in the right position, Frank Lampard has been told.
Regarded as one of the finest talents in the game right now, Havertz was supposed to be the monster signing that would help the club replace Eden Hazard, especially after developing into a real force over in the Bundesliga.
But despite all the hype and despite that big price tag, Havertz has struggled to make a real impact on this side so far over the opening weeks of the weekend, and looks like a player that is lost in the headlights of the Premier League.
But Lampard has been told that Havertz will come good for the club, if they play him in the right position, That is according to Mario Melchiot and the former Blues defender has tracked Havertz for some time – with down the middle seen as his best position.
He told talkSPORT: “I knew Kai Havertz before he came to Chelsea. I knew Kai was a great talent.
“The only difference I see is that in the system Chelsea play he comes from the outside, but in Germany he was a No.10 or a striker. He had more freedom because the team was built around him.
“When he comes to Chelsea, he’s not going to get that! They have a player that has to get used to a certain way of playing and that takes time.
“People don’t expect him to need more time because of the price tag; people want him to fire straight away.”
