Exciting attacker sent transfer message ahead of possible Chelsea move
PSV’s Cody Gakpo has emerged as an Chelsea transfer target, and he has been warned about leaving the Dutch giants.
The 22-year-old has been in excellent form for the Dutch giants this season, scoring 10 goals and providing 11 assists in just 28 games.
And reports in the media have claimed that we are considering him to add a bit more quality in the attack, especially as Thomas Tuchel has not been impressed with the lack of goals his side have scored this season
However, despite all the speculation linking the talented young man about a move, Dutch legend Marco van Basten has warned the attacker not to jump ship and remain in the Eredivisie.
He told Voetbal4U, via Sport Witness: “He has been in the Eredivisie for a year now, you have to have a basis to succeed abroad. That is three, four years in the Netherlands.
“Then you are just a bit stronger, a bit better prepared for the higher level abroad – because it all goes much harder and faster. But nowadays, they all want to leave after one year.
“The sooner you leave, the greater the chance of not succeeding. If you do not succeed in those two, three years, then you go to another club that is less. Then your career is going to look very nasty.”

Look, if we do decide to make a move and make a serious offer to the Dutch giants, it would be very hard for Gakpo to turn down such a move to a club that is one of the biggest in Europe.
We are constantly winning titles and playing Champions League football, they would be hard to turn down.
But on the other hand, he may struggle to get the kind of game time that he needs to develop, and that is the biggest risk
