‘Excited’ new Chelsea signing ‘wants trophies’ after completing Blues move

Brand new CHELSEA signing Joao Pedro has opened up and revealed that he wants to win trophies at the Blues after completing his move to Stamford Bridge

The Blues have swooped to add another option to their front line with the Brazil international signing a seven-year deal at Stamford Bridge. Newcastle United were also eager to sign the 23-year-old with Pedro preferring a move to London.

Liam Delap arrived at the start of the transfer window from Ipswich Town along with Mamadou Sarr from Strasbourg. Dario Essugo has also arrived from Sporting CP after a deal was struck in March with Brazilian sensation Estevao Willian will join up with his new teammates after the Club World Cup.

We have agreed a deal worth £55m with £5m in add-ons with Brighton with Pedro departing after two seasons at the AMEX.

The Brazil international’s transfer was confirmed this morning, and he has joined us in the United States as we continue our preparations for Friday’s Club World Cup quarter-final tie against Palmeiras.

He will be training with his new team-mates at our base in Miami today and appreciates the expectation – and the reality – that come with representing a club with our history.

He says: ‘I grew up watching the Premier League, and Chelsea were a club that won trophies. So, when you join Chelsea, you can only think one thing: to win trophies

‘Every competition, you have to think, “I play for Chelsea and that is my ambition”.

‘I’m close a little bit to David Luiz. I spoke to him, not about CHELSEA, but about my career and how I could develop better. He helped me.’
