Exciting winger Anderson announces why he snubbed Man United to sign for the Chelsea!
Edwin Anderson has revealed he snubbed a move to Manchester United and signed for Chelsea.
The January transfer window may now be shut and fans will not be seeing the arrival of big names, but that is not stopping the club from wrapping up a few deals.
Having been linked with 16-year-old Andersson for some time, we are seemingly on the brink of confirming the signing of the teenager.
On Goteborg’s official website, academy boss Jonas Olsson said: “We of course wish Edwin good luck. We would have liked to have seen him stay with us but that he is being recruited to Chelsea is a good mark on our business.”
Manchester United have previously been credited with an interest in the Swedish midfielder, but it is was us who have completed a deal for the lad.
A delighted Andersson has since confirmed the ‘dream’ move himself, citing the ‘incredibly good conditions’ at Chelsea as a major factor in his decision. ‘It is a dream come true,’ he told the club website: ‘Chelsea was the club that suited me best and it is a club with incredibly good conditions.’
Our only other signing in January was Bryan Fiabema, who will also go straight into the Blues’ academy.
Lampard has overseen a dramatic change in youth policy since he took charge last summer, with a host of academy stars graduating to become regulars in the senior squad
Mason Mount, Tammy Abraham, Reece James and Fikayo Tomori are just a few of the young guns in Lampard’s side.
