Cascarino welcome Dunk, Havertz deal close, Cummings deal agreed, Chelsea backed to sign Upamecano in icchelseanews roundup..

helsea are closing in and are in the home straight with the Kai Havertz transfer deal, according to reports.

We moved early in the window to secure deal for Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner, who are considered two of the most attacking players in Europe right now, and Havertz is expected to be the final piece of the attack next season.

However, there has been constant reports in the media which have suggested that the two clubs are too far apart in trying to agree a fee for the player, with our club valuing the German at £70 million, While Bayer value him at £90 million.

However, according to Goal reporter Kevin Palmer, the final touches are now being applied to a possible transfer deal and we are in the home stretch in terms of completing a transfer deal.

He tweeted: “Chelsea are in the ‘final stages’ of negotiations over a deal for Kai Havertz.

“Discussions are focusing on the structure of performance related payments.

“It seems like this is a deal edging towards to a conclusion.”

There has been so many reports surrounding a possible deal that we all do not know which ones to believe, but if he is close to a move to the Bridge, he will be a very exciting signing for the club.

Chelsea have announced that Jamie Cummings has agreed to join Stevenage on a season long-loan.

Cumming has been a player here since the age of eight, always deployed between the sticks during his rise through the ranks at Cobham, but he now needs game time in the first-team in order to progress.

And The goalkeeper, 20, will be getting his first taste of senior football after acting as understudy to Kepa Arrizabalaga and Willy Caballero last term, a move that he and the Stevenage board are very happy with

Cumming told the club website: “I think it is a fantastic opportunity for myself. The manager was very keen on getting me in and that was a big part of me signing here.

“He has put a lot of faith in me and I am sure I will repay that. I am just really looking forward to getting started.”

“Jamie is an exciting talent and both us and Chelsea think very highly of him,” Alex Revell said. “He is an aggressive goalkeeper in terms of how he plays and we think he will be well suited to playing in the league.

“He has already played a lot of games in the EFL Trophy and we are excited to have him at the football club. We now have two fantastic young goalkeepers and it is now down to them to fight for their place.”

Chelsea “could do with” having RB Leipzig centre-back Dayot Upamecano in their back-line, according to former Blues defender Jason Cundy.

Upamecano has earned huge praise since this season with the German outfit and his performances over the past few seasons have got many top clubs interested in a possible summer transfer deal.

We are one club that are in dire need of adding to the back-line over the next few windows, especially as they had one of the worst defences out of the top ten sides in the Premier League last season, and Cundy believes he would be a good signing for us, who are in the market for defenders this summer.

“Largely, you look at the two squads, they went into [the quarter-final] as second-favourites, especially losing Timo Werner as well,” Cundy said on talkSPORT.

“You’ve got some big names, some household names in football in the Atleti team but I have to say, the boy at the back, Upamecano, what a performance.

“I was looking at him thinking, as the game was developing, ‘this was the first time I’ve had a close look at your game’ and I was watching him and he was just immense.

“I was thinking: ‘Chelsea could do with him’.

“He’s 21 years of age, it’s the best performance I’ve seen of a young centre-half in a very, very long time.”

Tony Cascarino would welcome Chelsea doing a deal for Brighton’s consistent central defender Lewis Dunk

Now we all know that Frank Lampard is seeking to put a side together that is worthy of challenging Liverpool and Manchester City for that Premier League title next season, and already has started on working on the squad by landing two top attackers.

However, there are some questions at the back, and Frank Lampard needs to delve into that transfer kitty and find a leader to sort out the club’s defensive problems, with a number of possible players that could solve their issues

According to reports on the SUN website, we have already made their move to try and sign the Brighton Captian and have reportedly offered around £40 million to conclude a deal.

And amid the speculation, Cascarino has opened up and admitted that he would welcome the possible signing of Dunk this transfer window, he told the TalkSport website: “He’s not just a brute that wins headers. He’s a fine footballer,” he remarked about the 28-year-old.

“If you said to me, of the bottom half of the table who I think is the very best centre-half, I think it’s him.”

Dunk is a brilliant defender in the Premier League, we think, and we should definitely make a move for a man that has the leadership abilities to be a real star at the club for the next few seasons.

We rate Dunk very highly, and the fact he is a Chelsea fan, would make it all the better that he is signed.
