Drogba tells Hazard to stay as Lampard has Hudson-odoi warning for Chelsea
Chelsea hero Didier Drogba has told Eden Hazard to ignore a move to Real Madrid as he could fulfil his dreams at Stamford Bridge.
Hazard has been in superb form this season and has played some of his best football under Maurizio Sarri, but there is massive suggestions in the media which have claimed that the Belgian is set for a big money move to Madrid in the summer.
Speculation over a move to Madrid have increased over the past day or so after Madrid made the shock appointment of Zinedine Zidane ten months after he walked out the club, claiming that it was time that the Spaniards headed in a different direction as he could not take them any further.
And the Frenchman has made Hazard one of his top summer targets, But hero Drogba believes Hazard should stay, and can realise his dreams at Stamford Bridge.
He was quoted on the Daily Express website, he said: “Why should he leave? I think he can have this here in Chelsea.
“I had many opportunities to leave and I decided to stay to make my own story and win the Champions League here. I think he’s got a chance to make his own story.
“This club is still young and we need people like him to improve the quality in terms of Champions League trophies in the room, he can help us.
“I will be very happy if he stays here, but if he goes to Madrid, good luck to him.”
Meanwhile, Frank Lampard has told Callum Hudson-Odoi he will need to make a decision in the summer as to whether we are the right club for him.
His lack of game time and growing interest from German Champions Bayern Munich has led to a lot of speculation that he is interested in packing his bags and leaving the club at the end of the season, as he has so far rejected the £85,000-a-week contract offer that we have reportedly placed on the table.
Lampard wants Hudson-Odoi to remain at Stamford Bridge and work hard to get more of a chance under manager Sarri, be he admits he will have to make a decision in the summer over what he thinks is best for his career.
“Firstly, I’d love him to stay at Chelsea,” Lampard told talkSPORT.
“He needs to be doing everything to get in that team. Is he working hard and is he developing every day in training and trying to improve?
“I don’t know him that well but I’m sure that’s the standard at Chelsea he’s going by himself. Every minute he gets on the pitch he needs to be doing everything he can.
“I understand Chelsea fans want to see more of him and he has to do everything he can to give himself the chance of minutes.
“I think at the end of the season he will look back and think ‘what can I do with my career?’. It’s a mad one because a young English player at Chelsea at that age then you really want him to sign that long-term contract.”
