USA legend Donovan has big Pulisic hopes for Chelsea bound star
USA legend Landon Donovan hopes that Christian Pulisic can fulfil his potential at Chelsea when he arrives during the summer window.
Pulisic is regarded as one of the finest talents in world football and has been taking the Bundesliga by storm with giants Borussia Dortmund, but with the emergence of Jadon Sancho at the club, Dortmund decided to cash in on the American leading to all sorts of speculation.
But in the end he decided to make the right decision and make a move to Stamford Bridge in a deal that is worth well over £50 million, with some reports he has been signed to help fill the void which may be left by star man Eden Hazard, who has constantly been linked with a big money move to Spanish giants Real Madrid.
And USA legend Donovan has claimed he hopes that Pulisic will be able to fulfil his potential at Stamford Bridge, telling the ESPN website: “The beauty of the situation with Christian is that he, by all accounts and from what I have seen, has a really good head on his shoulders, likes to compete and is oozing with talent.
“I just hope that he gets a fair opportunity to play. You just never know. When you’re playing in America, for a club in America, you get the benefit of the doubt.
“But when you’re playing somewhere else, they don’t care if you’re from America or Ghana or Argentina, they are going to play who they think should play.
“So, he’s got to prove he belongs there, which I’m hoping and guessing he will do, but it’s going to be difficult.
“That’s a club that’s full of quality attacking players.”[the_ad id=”164″]
Here is what we think on the arrival of Pulisic.
Pulisic is a brilliant young talent that has the ability and potential to become a real superstar here at Stamford Bridge, but he just needs time to adjust to the pace and quality of the premier League.
He will add some much needed width to the side next season and if he is still fill the boots of Hazard, then he needs to add more goals to his game as that is the only real criticism of his young career.
