Bayern’s sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has come out and told the likes of Chelsea that Robert Lewandowski wanmts to leave the club

Chelsea have just lost another cup final in sensational fashion – the players – the club – the fans are all hurting right now and nobody is really thinking about possible transfer deals.

However, the game against Liverpool showed that we need a world class striker that has the ability to score goals on a weekly basis – as Romelu Lukaku simply is not good enough to lead that attack.

And it has emerged that they have a real chance of completing a deal for one of the games very best players – if they move quick enough – as Lewandowski will be on the market in the coming transfer window.

The big Polish star is a goal-machine that has just netted his 49th goal of the season for Bayern – but with his contract running out at the end of next season – the Germans may have to sell in the summer.

Confirming that Lewandowski wants to go, Salihamidzic told Sky Germany: “I spoke with Lewa.

“In that discussion he informed me that he does not want to accept our offer to extend the contract and that he would like to leave the club.

“He said he wants to do something else. But our position has not changed.

“The fact is he has a contract to June 30, 2023.”

Right now there is not many strikers in the game that is as good as Lewandowski – even at his age – he really is a machine.

The club need to add a player to the squad that has the ability to score goals on a weekly basis – and if they have a chance to snap up the superstar – now is the time to get some agreements in place
