Chelsea target Memphis Depay says he wants to focus on the World Cup and is not thinking about a Barcelona exit in January.

Barcelona was in shambles after Lionel Messi left the club, as they were depended heavily on him for goals and as soon as the player left the club, there was a void and a lack of goals.

Dutchman Memphis Depay was brought in to fill in the space left behind by the Argentine, but he was not consistent enough in front of the goal and injuries have also messed up his time with the club.

Add the fact that the club signed Robert Lewandowski in the summer transfer window – and Depay has seen his minutes on the pitch drop dramatically – which has led to more speculation that he could leave in the coming transfer window

He was heavily linked with a move away from the club during the summer transfer window – but made the decision that he wanted to stay and fight for his place – but it has not worked out.

Barcelona have opened the doors for Depay to leave in January. According to recent reports from the AS, Barcelona will listen to offers for the Dutch forward and accept should an interesting one arrives.

However – amid all the speculation and all the rumours – Depay has opened up and admitted that he is not thinking about his future with Barcelona at this time

He said: “I don’t know what will happen after the World Cup. I’ve recovered from injury and I’m enjoying the World Cup.

“I don’t want to think about the past. I also don’t want to think further than this competition,”
