Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news, gossip and transfer speculation from icchelseanews that we think you guys could have missed today featuring the likes of Aaron Anselmino, Fikayo Tomori and Liam Delap…

Fikayo Tomori would be a very good defensive signing for Enzo Maresca at CHELSEA after reports emerged which suggested that the Blues have been offered the chance to sign the AC Milan star, according to reporter Iomie Stanley.

Stanley said: ‘While Chelsea might weigh their options, Tomori’s potential availability in January presents an excellent opportunity for Maresca to bolster Leicester’s promotion push or strengthen their prospects of staying competitive in the Premier League if they’ve earned a return.

‘Tomori’s previous tenure at Chelsea showcased his ability to thrive in English football. His combination of athleticism, positional awareness, and composure on the ball made him a reliable option in Frank Lampard’s Chelsea side before his move to AC Milan.

‘Having experienced the physicality and pace of the Premier League, Tomori’s transition to Leicester would likely be seamless. He understands the demands of English football, which is invaluable for a side like Leicester aiming to build a robust defensive line.

‘Maresca’s style emphasizes possession-based football, much influenced by his time under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City. Tomori is a modern defender who thrives in systems that prioritize ball retention and build-up play from the back.

At AC Milan, he has demonstrated his ability to distribute effectively under pressure and contribute to attacking transitions. His versatility to play in a back three or four provides Maresca with tactical flexibility, which is crucial in adapting to different opponents and game scenarios.’

ANSELMINO EXCITED

Aaron Anselmino has admitted that he is very excited after being told that he is coming to CHELSEA this month, and has admitted that he is very happy for this new opportunity.

Anselmino was being touted as a potential superstar after his maiden season as a senior professional at Boca Juniors. His performance in the 2023-24 campaign grabbed the attention of Chelsea recruiters, who wasted no time in sealing a transfer for the young defender for just £17 million ($22m) in the summer.

The player, who has committed to move to Stamford Bridge on a seven-year deal, immediately returned to the Argentine club on loan at least until January 2025, and has continued to impress over in his homeland

Anselmino certainly wasn’t expecting the call, admitting that he hadn’t seen it coming when he spoke to ESPN in the airport.

“I always felt the love of the fans with me. This year I had to get injured often (four times). God willing that I come back one day. It’s my home and it’s a crazy thing that can’t be seen anywhere,” he said.

“Everything happened to me quickly, very suddenly. I was in the National Team and I didn’t know if I had to travel or stay. They told me that they wanted to have me in their ranks.

“I spoke with Román (Riquelme-Boca president) on the day of the sale. He called me on the phone and congratulated me. He is a person that I respect and admire a lot,

“(I’m) happy for this new opportunity. It is something dreamed of for anyone. I am very excited.”

DELAP COULD BE GREAT SIGNING

CHELSEA have been linked with a potential move for Ipswich star Liam Delap, and according to reporter Iomie Stanley, the forward has the potential to be one of the best strikers in the Premier League.

Delap is having a fine season in the Premier League for Ipswich this season and has been linked with a move to both Chelsea and Liverpool in recent weeks, and although his seven goals are not that impressive, his performances have been quality.

Stanley said: ‘Chelsea’s pursuit of young talent has been a cornerstone of their transfer strategy in recent years, with the club investing heavily in players who possess both potential and immediate value.

‘Delap could be a shrewd acquisition for Chelsea, particularly as they look to solve their long-term issues in the center-forward role.

‘At Ipswich Town, Delap has showcased his predatory instincts in front of goal. His movement in the box, combined with his ability to find space and finish clinically, makes him a standout among young strikers. Delap’s record at youth levels and his continued improvement in professional football demonstrate that he is not only a promising talent but also a consistent goal threat.

‘Chelsea, who have struggled to find a dependable striker since the departure of Diego Costa, could benefit from adding a player with Delap’s goal-scoring pedigree to their ranks.

‘Standing tall and strong, Delap’s physicality is one of his defining attributes. This strength allows him to hold up play effectively, shrug off defenders, and provide a focal point for his team’s attack.
