Defender announces delight after OFFICIALLY wrapping up summer Chelsea transfer deal

Southampton have confirmed the signing of highly-rated 18-year-old Tino Livramento from Chelsea on a five-year contract.

The sought after defender was a player that we had big hopes for in the coming seasons and there was murmerings in the media that he could be sent out on loan this summer to get the first team experience that he needed to get into that first team squad.

However, he was never going to get the first-team football he needs at the club because of their need for instant success and there were plenty of teams looking to sign him in this summer transfer window on a more permanent basis

The likes of Brighton, Arsenal, Manchester City, RB Leipzig, AC Milan and Monaco were showing interest and, for that reason, but it was the Saints who managed to wrap up a transfer deal for the young man

The deal reportedly sees Saints hand over £5m to the club, with a sell-on clause and a big buy-back option inserted ahead of his time on the South Coast

Speaking to southampton fc.com about his first conversation with Ralph Hasenhuttl, he said:

“He wanted to tell me a lot. He wanted to tell me a lot about how he wanted me to train, how he wanted me to play and what he wanted me to bring to the team. I feel like that was really attractive for me to see him expressing those emotions and showing how he sees me playing in a Premier League team. That’s a big thing for me being 18 and it was a really good conversation.”

This is another young player that we were hoping not to lose this transfer window, but it is a massive decision from the lad to make and one that will hopefully give him the footballing career that he wants
