Video – Who Chelsea should sign after Havertz deal, Bayern clear way for Havertz deal, Ginter on possible move in icchelseanews roundup..
Matthias Ginter has sought to distance himself from reports suggesting that a move to Chelsea this summer transfer window.
Frank Lampard is a man that knows that this side need to be improved in key areas of the pitch over the next few months as he turns this side from champions League chasers to Premier League contenders.
And having one of the worst defences out of the Premier League’s top ten clubs, means that Lampard is eyeing up a number of potential deals that he could solve the issues at the back with.
And Sky Germany recently reported that They are now interested in trying to secure a deal for German defender Ginter, who has developed into one of the most solid defenders in the Bundesliga over the past few seasons.
The 26-year-old is, however, tied to a contract at Bundesliga outfit Borussia Monchengladbach, and he sees no reason to break that agreement, despite the options he is reported to have on the table, and is adamant that he will be spending the 2020-21 campaign in his native Germany.
“I’m definitely staying in Gladbach,” Ginter told Kicker when quizzed on the exit talk.
“Of course I heard of the enquiries and was flattered by this attention, but I’ve said often enough how good things are for me in Gladbach.”
He added: “This team has huge potential, and the coach gives us a great deal of added value. With the amazing fans and surroundings here, this club is currently in the process of building something. I share these big ambitions and I also have a contract here.”
Bayern Munich have handed Chelsea a huge boost in the race to sign Kai Havertz by confirming they will NOT bid for the star this summer.
Havertz has been the transfer that Frank Lampard has been wanting to complete for some time now as he seeks an immediate replacement for Willian, who looks set to depart the club after failing to agree a new contract.
But with the possible Havertz deal being dragged out because we cant agree a fee, there have been Reports in Germany which have suggested that the Bundesliga champions are also in the hunt to try and get a transfer deal done.
However, Having completed the £40.9million transfer of Leroy Sane from Manchester City, another major investment is not on Die Roten’s radar, and they have told the club that they will not be making a transfer move for Havertz.
Bayern chief Uli Hoeness told FAZ: “I am sure that, after Leroy Sane, there will be no major transfers this year.
“That has nothing to do with the quality of Havertz. We all think he is a very, very good player.
“But in the coronavirus period after a transfer of almost 50 million, one of 70, 80 million or more I can’t imagine making unless we secure counter-financing through player sales.”
Chelsea need to sign a player like Virgil Van Dijk when they wrap up a deal for Kai Havertz in the coming days.
It is no secret that Havertz is heavily tipped to sign with the the lcub over the next few weeks, as his name is in the media on a daily basis, all suggesting that once the fee is agreed, he will be a Chelsea player.
But look, once Frank Lampard manages to secure a deal for Havertz, then he needs to go out and spend some serious money working on other areas of the pitch, mainly at the back.
We conceded over 50 goals in the Premier League last season, which cost the club valuable points, and if they are to get back into winning the Premier League, they need to complete a transfer deal for a Virgil Van Dijk type player.
