Hazard to stay, as Jorginho, Piatek, Icardi, Giggs and Rashford feature in todays Chelsea roundup
Its been another crazy day of rumours as we give you a roundup from all todays headlines.
Chelsea superstar Eden Hazard has dropped a massive hint that he could sign a new contract at Stamford Bridge.
Hazard has been in sparking form for the club over the last few weeks and is now arguably one of the best players in world football, but he has once again been in the headlines with rumours that he is playing his last season here at Stamford Bridge and will look to make a mega money move to La Liga to sign with Real Madrid, where he believes he has a better chance to win the Ballon d’or and the Champions League titles.
But we are not prepared to lose a man that has netted eight goals already this season and are reportedly ready to offer him a massive £300,000-a-week to stay at the club for the foreseeable future, which would be a huge improvement on his £220,000-a-week contract he currently gets at Chelsea.
Chairman Bruce Buck even took to the media to announce how much we wanted to keep Hazard and how he would entice the superstar to sign a new deal, which many believed would never happen as it seemed Hazard did not longer want to stay with the club and continue challenging for all the English games biggest trophies.
However, that is not the case anymore as Hazard has come out and admitted ‘that it would not be a problem’ if he did leave the club and sign for Madrid, but now could sign a new contract that will keep him at the club for the rest of his career.
He was quoted on the Sky Sports website: “I can finish with Chelsea. No problem at all. I am very happy with this club, with the team, my family is happy here.
“So If I don’t go to Spain, it is not a problem. I love the fans – I think the fans love me! What happens in the future, I will be happy, so that’s it.”
Ryan Giggs believes Manchester United can come to Stamford Bridge and get a result against Chelsea when the two sides meet this weekend.
United, who are under the guidance of Jose Mourinho, have had the worst start to a new season in over 30 years and are already out the Carabao Cup, struggling in the Champions League and have only won three out of their opening eight games.
The lads, under the guidance of Maurizio Sarri, have made a stunning start to the new season and are unbeaten in all competitions, playing some of the best football I have ever seen and looking like a side that is capable of destroying any team they come up against, we are looking like a dominant force.
But despite the fact United are playing terrible football, despite the fact Mourinho is heading for the chop and despite the fact they are looking more like the average joes than a title winning side, Giggs insists that United are capable of matching Mourinho’s former club at Stamford Bridge and believes a morale-boosting display could spur them on to greater success this season.
‘There’s lots being spoken about Manchester United and Jose Mourinho, but if you go back to the last game against Newcastle then them coming back like that you’d hope would give them massive confidence,’ Wales’ manager said in his Sky Sports column.
‘It’s the start of a massive period for them with Chelsea and Juventus coming up and also Manchester City not too far away, so they’ll need that confidence. This is the period that United need to be getting up for the games and I wouldn’t be surprised if they come through this period pretty well because they are capable of playing against and matching the good teams.
‘I was at the game against Newcastle and the visitors played really well in the first half and you sometimes get that. I played in games where you’re down 1-0 or 2-0 and you’re forced to go for it. With the attacking ability they’ve got they’ve always got a chance.’
Maurizio Sarri wants to add a striker to his Chelsea squad this January, with Genoa star Krzysztof Piatek top of his shopping list according to reports that emerged.
Now we all know we have one of the best attacks in the Premier League and have been scoring goals for fun, but both Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud have not been helping Willian, Eden Hazard and even N’golo Kante out this season and have struggled to score goals on a regular basis.
And although I believe Giroud offers us something different up front and that he is a master of creating space for the more speedy players, he was signed by Antonio Conte to replace Morata and score the goals that will help us challenge for the Premier League title this season, something he has failed.
Morata on the other-hand should be banging in the goals for fun this season, especially since he has all the attributes to be one of the world s best strikers, but as we said earlier he has failed to impress and it is getting to that point that even Sarri has had enough,
And that has led to much speculation that Sarri is ready to give up on both Giroud and Morata and make a move for 23-year old Piatek, who is making a real name for himself over in Serie A and has attracted interest from Chelsea and Barcelona.
The 23-year old striker already has thirteen goals this season from just eight matches and is showing the kind of ability that makes him the ideal fit for a Premier League switch, and a forward that looks destined to lead the attack for the next few years.
And the Sun has reported Sarri has told the clubs hierarchy that he wants to delve into the transfer kitty this January to buy a striker that will add 20-plus goals to the attack, with Piatek just one of three new strikers that he has been eyeing up.
AC Milan star Gonzalo Higuaín and Inter Milan star Mauro Icardi are also on the shopping list, but the fact Piatek has scored so many goals at a small club like Genoa, makes him a prime target for the club.
Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri is also lining up a January move for unhappy Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi, according to the latest reports to hit the media.
With Sarri still looking to improve the squad and build a side that can dominate Europe as well as the Premier League, the Italian boss is eyeing up a couple of new defenders, a new winger and a hitman that could bring 20-30 goals a season to the club, something Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud can simply not do.
And that has led to speculation that his top transfer target is Genoa striker Krzysztof Piatek, who has scored thirteen goals already this season and is fast becoming one of the most sought after strikers in Europe, with Juventus, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Barcelona all reported to have sent scouts to watch him.
However, according to the Daily Star website, Sarri is now ready to convince the Chelsea board to splash the cash in just a few months time and try to seal a deal for Icardi, whois not happy with the latest contract offer Milan have put on the table
Icardi is firmly regarded as one of the best strikers in world football after scoring 29-goals in Seria A last season and was heavily linked with a summer move to Stamford Bridge, but he is demanding €8m (£7.2m) plus bonuses to renew a new deal at the club, but Inter are only prepared to offer €6.5m (£5.70m) plus bonuses as they feel he only has a few good years left in him.
And he could seek to push through a move in the next couple of transfer windows, and although his hefty £90 million price tag has put a lot of clubs off, Sarri is still reportedly keen on a deal.
Jorginho has announced he is finding it very difficult not to love life in London after making a very impressive start to his Chelsea career.
Jorginho arrived at the club shortly after the appointment of Maurizio Sarri in a deal worth around £53 million after he rejected the opportunity to link-up with Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, and so far Jorginho has been the maestro behind Chelsea’s unbeaten start to the new season as he has contributed in a number of assists over the first few weeks of the season.
And he has now come out and admitted that he cannot help but love life here at Chelsea, telling the Daily Express website: “It is a privilege to come here and to play alongside them. I think anyone who plays at Chelsea is a big name player.
“They are also great people. I am loving it here. I love the club, I love the city. It would be impossible not to love it here.”
Jorginho is now part of one of the Leagues best midfields and is hoping to go on and challenge for everything the English game has to offer.
Meanwhile Chris Waddle has claimed Manchester United star Marcus Rashford would get ahead of Alvaro Morata here at Chelsea.
The young English striker is a firm fans favourite and one of the only players at Old Trafford that can get the fans on the edge of their seats, But over the last 12 months his development has stalled under the guidance of Jose Mourinho, who isn’t convinced the Englishman is ready to get ahead of Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku.
And this season he has grown even more frustrated at the lack of game time under the special one, starting only two Premier League games, and Waddle has warned United to start valuing the youngster more, or risk losing him to a rival claiming he would start ahead of Morata.
Waddle told the TalkSport website: “Rashford will have to leave if he doesn’t get regular first team football,” said the former England international. He needs to get games and if he’s not getting games at United then he needs to go elsewhere in order to get it.
“There’ll be a time when he decides to look at other teams where he can play week in week out, he’s never been in that position and he needs that at some point.
“There would be a good chance for him to get in the Chelsea team. He would be up against Giroud, but he offers something very different and would get ahead of Morata. Rashford could play wide left for Tottenham, but he wouldn’t get ahead of Kane, or the front two of Arsenal.
“His agent will only listen to offers from teams that select him as first choice, in the position that he wants to be playing in.”
